JP Tokoto - Possible Wildcats import based off nothing but playing position and projected draft number and team.

I'd be very happy to see Tokoto in a Wildcats uniform. Kids got some hops.

There were some peeps throwing around a rumour on ATF's FB page about Rotnei Clarke returning to Hawks. Not too sure how much of that is wishful thinking compared to actual fact.

Yeah I heard about Rotnei too, Ennis won't be happy, will look for the nearest lake pond or river.

I'm sure Ennis would be too busy with his NBA contract to be worrying about Rotnei ;)

I'm pretty sure Rotnei would have traded in that MVP for a NBA Contract

Justin Hamilton would be a good buy for any nbl team needing a budget guard.

Check out Ray Turner playing for Perth Redbacks.
The man is killing it.
Played for Rockhampton Rockets last year and won finals MVP.
Really athletic and alters a lot of shots on the defensive end.

Can Adelaide stop getting budget imports?

GWB - they would if they had extra cash to spend but Gibbo, DJ take up a lot of cash so budget role player second import is all that can be afforded.

Until we sign a big budget import we won't win the championship full stop!!
I repeat we will never win a championship with DJ and Gibson as our highest paid players!
This state needs a big name/big budget import!

Big name but also budget? Those 2 things dont go hand in hand. All legit bigs are getting paid top dollar in bigger euro leagues.

NZ, cairns and Perth go well with 1 gun import good locals and often a budget import.

With lower AUD big budgets imports are hard to get!!

Every team needs a big name big money player( to draw media attention, give fans something to get excited about and give their tema a real chance ).
Thats why they brought in a marquee player rule.
(Last year Melb spent the extra money on a 7 foot Aussie to stand at the 3 point line and make a few shots if their was no defence and he didn't have to move.)
Either way, clubs have the option ( if they can raise the cash) to recruit a big time player without impactign the salery cap.
So Adelaide could pay top Aussies top dollars, then have budget ( but good) imports and still have an (ex) NBA type. IF THEY CAN RAISE THE CASH!
The issue then is to fit in the points system. TO do this you need as many long term plaers as you can to get some point discounts.

Perth Redbacks' Ray Turner would be a good pick up for any NBL club. Two 50-point games this season, leading rebounder as well. With Redhage and Wagstaff, Wildcats wont pick him up so some other club really should look at him

NBL development players can put up big numbers in state leagues. It almost never translates to NBL form.
