Always the victim, never will she take accountability for her own actions, it's everyone else who is at fault but her.
She is not good for women’s sport

"It's very frustrating me playing here. I'm continuously told by referees how hard it is to ref me. I don't like having to shrink my game, make my game smaller because other people can't handle it. But I have to push through it this season."

She carry’s on when she can’t get her own way, plays dirty and when pinged for it blames the refs.

Southside are welcome to her, if she shrunk her ego and attitude, she would play a far better game lol

I'm not sure if you follow basketball or this forum specifically, but flopping is routinely criticized - and LeBron specifically for it.

So yes: when a female does it, it's bad, and she is bad for the sport.

For many more reasons previously mentioned in this thread: Liz's constant complaining, tantrums, ill-formed opinions and cries out for attention are bad, and bad for the sport.

Hopefully this clears up the issue for you.

The criticism many have of Cambage is based on her history of moronic and unprofessional behaviour. This predates her vocal support of BLM.

To be fair though: I'm sure your point is accurate, since poltical expression is quite divisive nowadays. Nonetheless, it's also not really the root of the issue people have with Cambage.

If she were a better role model, or at the very least not carry on in public view like she does so often, then we would have more comments regarding the impact she'll have on-court, and for the popularity of the WNBL. Wouldn't that be nice?

No she's simply someone who uses excuses to blame everyone else for her own short comings on and off the court

People don’t “tune in” to watch her bratty antics, they want to watch a game of professional basketball players .

Her behaviour off the court is just as bad , you wouldn’t even say her name in the same sentence as LJ..... Magbedor is about to replace her mantle though, that girl can not only play but she plays with heart not excuses, she’s what the media should be focusing on not some playboy expo or tantrum recant of why she’s back in the WNBL

Yes, and this is just wildly incorrect. This is why Cambage draws so many comparisons to Bogut: they both have a platform to speak their minds, and often use it to their detriment. Bogut is routinely called out for saying something stupid or controversial - go check hoops if you don't believe me.

I have no issue with her being an assertive woman, but she doesn't realise that her "campaigning for social issues" comes across as whinging. Bogut & Cambage are kinda comparable in terms of being high profile basketballers who readily voice their opinions on social media.
Comparing their actual opinions though is a very different kettle of fish.
Bogut seems to want to position himself as the next Sam Newman, with an agenda of blind political incorrectness and plain ignorant shit like perpetuating Pizzagate. I don't mind what he's trying to do, but he's far too stupid to actually pull it off. Even moreso than Sam.
Cambage's main stances seem to be elevating people of colour, promoting veganism, and de-stigmatising mental health issues. All worthy causes IMO. (Though it's clear that there are still more than enough racists around for the first one to ruffle some feathers whenever the topic comes up)

Everything she does is for herself. You can't be a public figure when it suits you watch the "Call my Name" were she claims almost everything it’s because of her. Then claim “I just want to be me, I am not a role model for anyone”
For anyone that watched the game last night would have seen her complaining and abusing the ref’s from the first call

So as I asked before, what's the problem with it?

Quite a few people here seem to take offence at everything she does (which involves them paying constant attention to her - something they apparently can't seem to help themselves from doing), and then disappear back down a hole when asked to explain what's so bad about it. Be it DJ'ing, stripping down, adding her voice to various causes, etc. it's all completely harmless, yet it triggers the hell out of some people for some reason. I don't get it.

I get being frustrated at her sooky on-court stuff (in the WNBL it's mostly funny to me since I'm not a Flyers fan, internationally it annoys me when she techs herself into trouble), but I don't get the preciousness about her personal life.

Id like to think your in the majority, it was tacky and tasteless IMO, but its just another grab at attention, and in a way she's got what she wanted, after all here we are discussing it, but sadly attention can come in good and bad forms, hers always seems to be the later both on and off court. If she stopped playing the victim, just got on with her game , then when she spoke about causes she believed in people might actually take her seriously , their is a right and a wrong way about getting your message across, something both her family and managers should be guiding her in, but at this age her habits are too ingrained, sad really as she could have had so much more of a positive influence on not just the game but also anything else she felt strongly about. Now people just roll their eyes or tune out and go, oh she's off again. Watching the game the other night I actually found myself wanting to turn the TV off, purely because she was playing, but then I thought of the likes of Jenna Ohea, and Leilani Mitchel, two brilliant players both on and off the court, they will continue to get my support, Cambage though for me is not a value add to this league.

It's an argument that would be over very quickly.
You can argue top 5, but not top.
(I don't agree that Moore, Taurasi, Charles or Ogwumike are as good as her right now, but IMO Wilson, Stewart & Delle Donne are all better, and I'd add Thomas & Vandersloot to the list who are around the mark)

Other than that detail though (which is likely just a talking point that has been handed to him to mention), I rate Corbin Middlemas. He's one of those solid commentators who can call what's in front of him even if he might not know all the details & history. Contrast that with Cam Luke who is very much a basketball guy yet completely butchers all the players' names. That reeks of disrespect to me and is not a great look for the league.

In recent years, feminist movements have attracted significant attention in Europe and North America. So why do so many young women still say they do not identify with the term?

Fewer than one in five young women would call themselves a feminist, polling in the UK and US suggests.

That might come as a surprise as feminism - the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of equality of the sexes - has been in the spotlight lately.
