lightning ownership

just wondering if anyone has heard more on the ownership of the Adelaide Lightning for beyond 2014/2015.
It's been well publicised that Vince is not going to continue!!! what will happen to the premier women's team in SA, will there be one? and if so who will own it?
They've done a great job at recruiting SA talent back for this season, will it all be to no avail?

It's been published that SOS & B SA are providing financial support.
And I guess 2 SA born players at least beats 36ers who have only 1.

Razor, the Sixers work with the Lightning in terms of some administration aspects, but you might find that's about all their relationship is.

Whilst not actually providing cash, holding double headers, administrative support, etc, will assist in reducing costs.

The Adelaide Lightning is pleased to announce that they will continue to participate in the WNBL for season 2014/2015.

Basketball SA and the Adelaide 36ers have answered the clubs calls for assistance and have developed a co-operative plan with the Marino family to ensure that the Adelaide Lightning will continue their proud tradition as South Australia's elite women’s basketball team representing the state in the WNBL next season.

The Adelaide 36ers will continue to administer the club for the 2014/2015 season and they are working with the Marino’s and Basketball SA to build a framework for the 2015-16 season that aims to guarantee a stable and successful future for the Adelaide Lightning.

Mr Hubbard said "I am optimistic about the future of the Adelaide Lightning in the WNBL. Basketball SA will be working intensively alongside the Adelaide Lightning and the Adelaide 36ers to plan a business and management model for the club that is sustainable and achievable and also supports growth for the club in the future. What that looks like specifically will emerge in time" said Mr Hubbard.

Together the three organisations have sought support from Basketball Australia and the WNBL, submitting a request to schedule 10 double headers with the Adelaide 36ers next season which would provide financial relief for the club by reducing their game day expenses significantly. The double headers with the Adelaide 36ers have proved successful over the past season and provide positive exposure for the women’s team as well providing a welcomed opportunity for basketball fans to see two great games in one event.

Adelaide 36ers General Manager Dean Parker said “We believe in the Adelaide Lightning and we know that Adelaide wants them to survive and thrive. We need everyone who believes there should be an opportunity for a women’s team to represent SA in the national competition to get behind the team”

What happens the following year when Mr Marino pulls out? Does SOS and BSApay the bills?

let's hope that before BSA commits to any financial support for the lightning that they consult the member clubs and disclose any /all plans to do so.

I'm not sure that investing financially into the lightning before investing in facilities and programs is what BSA should be doing!!!

I would have thought that grass roots basketball should be looked after first?
