Joe M me thinks you may be fibbing if you say you played at Bowden. I seem to recall that Bowden was pulled down about 30 years ago (although it may not have been quite that long ago).

I'm 70. Hard to come to grips that I played in South's first championsip team 45 years ago. Seems like yesterday except for my knees.

40......First saw NBL watching the 83 Finals Series played at Kilsyth stadium (my mum was administrator of the place).

Sat front row and watched Voldemort's Canberra Cannons beat Leroy's West Adelaide Bearcats in the GF. It was a 2 point thriller and I was hooked.

While only yesterday I read botinagy.com about the sixties and it bought back memories. Then, I remembered that this was here.
The year was 1962 and I was 11 years and started playing under 12s 'biddy ball' and followed those guys that boti talked about.
Later, I played with and against my heroes and I was frightened of them.
I ended up playing 2 or 3 games a week, summer and winter for 20 odd years,
a few thousand games.
