How will covid cases affect next round fixtures

For example, Perth were scheduled to host new Zealand on Thursday night.

But New Zealand played in Brisbane on the weekend, and the rules in WA are that if you're coming from Brisbane you need to do a 14 day quarantine.

Will the game be postponed or will nbl just move teams around so Perth plays someone else on the Thursday

The Wildcats might as well quarantine in NZ for 14days

Possibility that tonight's Illawarra-Brisbane game is being postponed

Perth are also due in Brisbane Monday so I can't see that happening.

Forde said in press conference that they are playing Perth again, not certain what he meant there, did he mean straight away or as per the draw.

"Perth are also due in Brisbane Monday so I can't see that happening." Why not?

Because they won't be able to get back into WA?

Not sure what the rules are but even if the Wildcats were allowed back into WA from Brisbane, they would probably have to self isolate for 14 days.

Right. And other states may institute border closures, so sending anyone to Queensland right now is a huge risk.

WA has put in a hard border, so the Wildcats would be unable to return if they go to Brisbane and the Breakers won't be allowed in.

This will be the fifth or sixth Breakers game in Perth to get cancelled this year.

Wildcats are relocating east for the foreseeable future

South Australia has implemented a hard border.

NSW is not making any border changes so I guess it's logical to send NZ and Brisbane there.

Victoria moving Brisbane to "red zone" as well.

I would assume it will be Brisbane, and possibly Cairns that will relocate for the next couple of weeks, the same as how Perth did before the NBL cup.

Could this end up as a Tasmanian Bubble, another mini tournament?

The NBL has announced changes to the schedule for Round 12 of the 2020-21 Hungry Jack's NBL Season.

The changes were made following the announcement today of a three-day lockdown in Brisbane and resulting border closures.

The Illawarra Hawks will now play South East Melbourne Phoenix this Thursday April 1 at the WIN Entertainment Centre at 7.30pm. The Perth Wildcats will now play the Sydney Kings at RAC Arena at 9.30pm AEDT.

The game between the Brisbane Bullets and South East Melbourne Phoenix scheduled to be played at Nissan Arena this Friday April 2 has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.

The game between Melbourne United and the Cairns Taipans at John Cain Arena this Friday April 2 at 5.30pm will go ahead as scheduled.

The NBL will announce further changes to the schedule for Rounds 12-14 and the full schedule of games for Round 15 tomorrow.
Brutal period to be handling sports scheduling!

Brutal is a good word, nbl actually doing their best and very well in tough times, deserve credit for it, certainly for basketball tragics.

Agreed 100%.

The NBL should be praised for being able to schedule games around the Covid spot-fires that come up from time to time.

Why has the kings home game been moved to perth? What has either of those cities got to do with Brisbane?

Kings were going to Illawarra on Thursday, now Perth and SEM to Illawarra as SEM been to Perth already I'm guessing.

Perth might still play in Sydney as well, it's just that their opponent for their Thursday game is now the Kings.

Perth were going to host NZ, who won't be allowed into WA as they played in Brisbane on Saturday. Given RAC Arena is already booked, it makes sense to find a different opponent rather than to cancel a game that doesn't need to be cancelled.

Bogut tweeted yesterday his typical misguided shit. "4 cases. Lockdown an entire city. :eyeroll:"

The number of community cases doubled in Brisbane overnight. Maybe maths isn't his strong point but the reason why cities lockdown is so cases don't double overnight, and things dont blow out of control like they did in Victoria last year, which he also complained about incessantly.

The man is an absolute dick.
