they wonder why they cant bring in sponsors and crowds, one bit of main stream media, relying totally on Instagram and facebook, super slack on WNBL management !!

Hopefully we will find out soon why the wnbl is not in kestlemans hands.
The wnbl could be streaming on nbl.tv.

I love that people seem to think SBS was tripping over themselves trying to get the WNBL rights and the league told them to piss off.

Sbs rights or not, can still stream the games via app, YouTube or any other free source.

So instead of the current arrangement where they stream all the games online, they should have instead stream all the games online?

You should be put in charge, that's a brilliant idea.

When the article this thread is based on says it is.

Every game on Fox Sports or WNBL website.

How many plates do you want the guy to spin at once?

"they wonder why they cant bring in sponsors and crowds, one bit of main stream media, relying totally on Instagram and facebook, super slack on WNBL management !!"

I think you miss entirely what the problem is. WNBA can barely get crowds or sponsors in America, and they show on ESPN and have gone 20 seasons at a financial loss. Women's basketball isn't a product that people are buying, simple as that.

Anyway, not sure what TV or rights deal people expected WNBL to get.

Bunch of boloni, euro crowds don't have a problem.

It has alot to do with the sports they run at the same time.

For wnbl, it’s soccer and cricket and later on aflw.

The article in the OP (and indeed the OP itself) literally says all games after round 3 will be streamed.

But is it more meaningful to just have stream every game free on YouTube or to offer a service for say 5$ a month. If only a few thousand buy the service, it's not worth it. Having more eyes on the league is worth more to the league than for the few that use the wnbl stream.

If it is free, then that’s good but atm it doesn’t sound like it.

What on earth are people basing their opinion that the WNBL stream will be a paid service?!

You could be right, but it's baseless drivel at this point given all we know is what LC posted. Why make shit up?

A bit surprised SBS weren't interested in picking up the WNBL like they have the WNBA.

I have to say, WNBL makes more sense putting on SBS than WNBA. No one is really going to watch WNBA so why not at least give that spot to a local product?

There you go, nbl1 on YouTube. Why not just make one Aussie basketball channel.

Junior aus. Basketball, nbl1 plus other state leagues and wnbl. Get it all under one banner.

Great in theory but guarantee all spots would be taken up by men's basketball, even if it was reruns from five years ago like it is on fox sport now
