Funny The unmentionables...

This post is all about highlighting people, roles, teams etc that dont get enough love on the forum. I'm just trying to share the love around :D

1. Referees. These guys/girls despite all our arguments, try hard week in and week out. They take abuse from all directions and still come back for more. I applaud them, for at least trying to do the right thing even though your always 50% in favour 50% out of favour.

2. Womens ABA. Lots of us have things to say re: the mens comp. Lets get behind the womens comp aswell and raise some awareness. ABA then into Lightning as the year progresses.

3. Lightning. Speaking of the womens game, lets get more people out to the Lightning home games this year. The bar prices are Wayville would have to be some of the cheapest in town. Its a great way to start a Saturday night.

4. Stats people/all volunteers that make our local game possible.
I am talking about the person on the ticket desk, behind the bar, games commisioner, stats people, STOP, people cooking the barbeque, selling raffle tickets and even team managers. Thankyou to all those people, you are the straw that stirs the drink that is local basketball.

5. If those people are the straw then the spectators are the glue that holds it all together. Thanks especially to the Southern Tigers supporters. I doubt many would argue that we have had the best crowds of the league this year. Regardless of who you support, i want to say well done and keep it up. Many of us posters here are supporters, and its good to see so much interest.

ABL Central is on the up and up with one of the closest mens comps in recent years and serious depth of talent in the womens. With 2 home and away game remaining, lets make sure the season is a historical one for more reasons then the all-star game.

Nice one 'Man who works with his Hands'.
As a spectator, I'd rather be beer than glue! plus drinking beer thru a straw can get fans motivated pretty quickly.

Its always nice to share the love but as the forum is seemingly full of blokes it can be a bit tuff!
Hopefully some female ABA/Lightning fans jump on & give their two bobs worth.

Volunteers(God bless them all) are what makes it all happen, do BASA give out any awards to volunteers? Recognising/awarding the work volunteers do in local basketball would be a nice gesture from BASA.

I should be at most, if not all Lightning games this year, so I certainly hope to give a fair bit of coverage through here.

I would like to thank the lack luster control on alcohol consumption within the staduims!
Theres nothing as good as court side boozing!
especially if you come away with a win!
Thank you to the bar staff who put on the booze, even though I've never bought a drink at a game before!

"Eh son, whats in that thurr bag?"
