both playing good team games - sturt dominated the boards - F'vlle's guards moved well.

2 good coaches should see a top 4 finish.

there would be one very sorry Fville lad - who threw the ball in off the baseline with 2 secs left - stolen by sturt - shot - then the same f'ville fouled to put him on the stripe.

Forestville - mix of 16 1s and 18 2s and 3s from 2004 (Dean Nyberg)

Sturt - majority 16 1s, and a 16 2 and 18 3 player (Liam Flynn).

No naming of players under 18!

Only watched the boys games and apologise for not putting score up for girls and boys and girls for upper age group as my son needed to go home to bed.

Obviously the player should not have been a position where they got two tech fouls.. Umpires do not lose games, teams do.

Blaming the refs for a loss is a cop out. When you play a perfect game, they will ref a perfect one. Until then, accept that the players weren't perfect, and in reality, they lost the game.

Hoop Addict, that was spoken like a true umpire who doesn't realise that refs can indeed effect the outcome of a game with a poor call.

That's great - if I were even a ref.

Not saying a ref can't effect a game, but I am saying you should look at your own/your teams performance first.

The refs are the refs, you're not able to do anything about them. You can do something about how you/your team do play though. That is what you should focus on.

So it should be more like "we did this, that and the other wrong, which we need to work on...." rather than simply "the refs screwed us out of a win". That is a cop out.

You will never improve if you have that attitude.

I think people worry about situations in a game that they can not change and they are the ref's. So one or two bad calls effected the outcome of the game? So instead of looking at why the tech's had been given or why the game was lost, we take the easy way out and blame the ref's?

If anyone saw the U20 men Woodville vs West game you would truly understand how to scrap on the loose ball. The skills weren't at their best, but the hustle and desire shown by the woodville boys on the loose balls showed that hustle does win matches. Long live Team Scrap!!!
