Now Maher may play?

Any thought of placing injured captain Brett Maher on injury waivers were shelved last night with his shocking revelation he may play on Friday.

The man revered as the "soul" of the 36ers and the NBL club's most successful player yesterday had a cortisone injection to get him over the line for the home game against surging Townsville.
Are there risks in taking this path?

Absoloutly there are
History has shown that Brett does not heal quickly from these types of injury.

The simple fact is, they don't have someone to replace him and with the current record they need him back.

There is no point having him back in 4 weeks time when they can no longer make the playoffs anyway

also no point in playing him and ripping it and making him unable to play for a large remainder of the year.

Must win for Sixers = Maher on court.

I'd still like to see Brad Hill start in front of Ng, adds size, height at both end of the floor.

(That's if Maher DOESN'T play of course)

You guys winge about not getting wins on the board. This is why they are desparate to get maher back. Lay-off. The team may loose still as with out maher they are infact under manned by 20pt and at least 5 Assist.

Why start Hill over NG? The last 2 games that Ng started the team has actually got off to a good start and we haven't been behind like prevoius games. Ng is very composed on the court, more so than Hill. Ng's been putting his body on the line too. 3 charges last game, although only 2 were called.

And he jumped in front of Ebi Ere on the break - brave defending. I thought he was about to get posterized.

If Maher went on injury wavers, would it be possible for us to sign someone like rucker to a short term contract??

The other players need to take more responsibilty because at the moment we are relying far to hevily on Maher and we need to be able to win games withou him.
