Hi , I went to the game. Starters for Adelaide were
Brett
Farley
Lanard
Majstro
Horvath
Before the game there were very few people but in the last 10 minutes before the match a good crowd started to build up so janet's numbers may in fact be a bit on the low side though it is very difficult to judget in the big stadium and also there were clearly a lot of younger kids who most likely were not counted in the official numbers . This is typical Singapore , people turn up just in time but it was a strange feeling compared to being at the DOME.
We can all have our views about why Adelaide lost but in my opinion the team only has one driver and that is Brett.
Re other players ( stats from Prowess Basketball-game box score)
Darren ( 7 points -5 rebounds) went to the basket and had a good part to play in particular in the first half.
Despite 14 points Willie ( 1 rebound, 3 fouls and and 1 AST plus 3 TO) was nowhere to be seen when leadership was needed.
The Maher - Horvath combination was the most positive you can say about the 36 ers .
Mark Nash will wish to forget this match ( FG=0/5, 3pt =0/2, FT=1/2, TR =1, ) and maybe Copeland should also do the same ( FG3/10, 3 pt =2/7 , 8 points, 4 PF, 2, Rebounds, )
No idea why Brad Hill only got 5.16 minutes ( 0 point) but he seems to be the chosen person to sit on the bench as soon as he does something wrong .
For the Slingers Chandler ( 21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and strong ability to put the ball on the floor) was a surprise. Aaron Trahair woke up in the second half and scored 14 points overall when it counted but the real strong players were Melmeth ( 12 point, 8 rebounds, 3 assists,4 steels), Ben Knight ( 19 points , 6 rebounds) and super clown Mike Helms ( 19 points, 8 rebounds despite also 5 TO).
The Slingers have 2 good - very hard working and up tempo PG's in Brad Davidson and Jeremy Kench.
While the stats do not show it , I felt that this ability to rest Davidson and keep the up tempo was a major difference to the 36 ers combination totally relying on Brett ( 40:41 minutes).
