All time 36ers team

It's been a while since this was done.
Here is my team

D Mee Point Guard
B Maher Shooting Guard
M Cattalini Small Forward
M Davis Power Forward
M Bradtke Centre

A Green
D Pierce
P Smyth
K Brooks
B Jones

does anyone feel I have missed anyone better than this group?

Interesting Maher was the only current player I could squeeze in.

Mate, this has been done too many times.
By the way, Smyth had 2 years with the 36ers when he was 32 and 33 from memory and well past his prime.

As discussed before you need to have some guidelines. For example Bradtke and Smyth did not play much at Adelaide and certainly were nowhere near their peak. Maher and Davis are walk up starts. McKay needs to be added.

I'll still do it again

PG- Maher
SG- Rose
SF- Cattalini
PF- Davis
C - Bradtke

Mee
Farley
Trimmingham
Brooks
Rees

Yeah, theres not really anyone from the 80's but I was too young then to give an honest opinion.

Looking at that bench tho, I reckon it would be a cracker of a game if the starting 5 played the bench when they were all at their peak

As a trees' age is judged by rings in a cross-section of its trunk, the life of this forum is judged entirely by a count of "All Time 36ers Team" threads.

Al Green would have to be first pick on any team. He set the standard by which everybody who followed him would be judged. Athleticism, (who else had a 40 inch standing jump?), toughness and attitude, and still holds the record for most points scored in an NBL game.

Al Green would have to get a "look in" for this team!

How can you have Bradtke in our team? He was hopeless when he played for us!

I agree regarding Bradke. He only developed into a good player after he left the 36ers..

Dumb comments Bradtke had played in the NBA when he was a sixer and the reason he left us was that he got a big Euro contract.

Kent , i think you are about 5 years early on the toast man being in the NBA , he played for philly in 97 .
However his last two years with the sixers in 91 and 92 yielded
18 pts , 13 reb , and 2 blks a game at decent clips , certainly solid numbers and fair to say he was another that developed here and then took his game elsewhere .
If he had the career he has had all in the sixers uniform he would probably be regarded as our best ever player .

I reckon he played in Portland circa 92 for a few games.

Bradtke only ever played NBA for the Philadelphia 76ers in 1997.

As anon (95893) says he had decent numbers for his last 2 seasons with the 36ers, but really only became a great player after he left in 93.

Yes very lucky to get out of that one on Monday ELG... playing against 4 players late in the game and blowing a 12 point lead.... cool heads prevailed on the last play though.
