I saw this on the news last night (i am in the US) he is breaking a record by doing this. He is the first coach in at least a decade to quit coaching a NCAA team to go straight to a assistant position in the NBA. IMO I think that Smyth is better than Dunlap

Its a strange career move.

He could have gone to a head coaching role in a Top Div 1 College, had a big impact and earnt more money than many NBA coaches but will instead be analysing video, scouting and working with players who dont care what some Div 2 coach has to say. I guess for some people the chance to be snubbed by the best athletes in the world was just too tempting.

Great news for Brannon Hays (Ex Norwood Flames Coach) who will take over MSCD though.
