Dragons vs Taipans pre-season game

The 36ers play the Dragons this weekend and the new Melbourne club features ex-36er Jacob Holmes and SA prodigy Joe Ingles.

They had their first pre-season hit-out last night against the Taipans and went down 104-115. The Dragons were missing Kavossy Franklin, Matt Burston, and Adam Quick.

Here are a few select quotes from those at the game. For more information, see this thread on OzHoops.

Ingels was good and a star of the future
Cattalini had 33 and 9, Mee 13 and 8 assists.

Dragons import Todd Fuller had 26 and 5 in 31 minutes. Holmes 18/8/5 (nice line), Heal 11/4/5, Drmic 14 and 9.
he big surprises were Joe Ingles, Ash Cannon and Brent Hobba. Ingles will be a genuine star if he continues to improve. He finished with 15, 3 and 3 and also did a great defensive job. LONG arms....think Brad Sheridan with less muscle but WAY more talent.
Also Ingles has the making of a star for sure, his recent games with the AIS and tonights performace would have all Dragons fans pretty damn excited.
If they gel, they should be dangerous. I also think people might be underestimating Cairns a touch.

Joey Ingles, not a bad NBL debut, even if it is a pre-season game...15,3, and 3...anyone would take that, and some very nice compliments to go with it. If he had signed with Sydney, he may well be in Japan at the moment.
