Marino Moves West

The DrugFree Perth Lynx confirmed today that former Canberra Capitals guard Angela Marino has signed to play in the black and gold uniform of the Perth-based franchise in the Women's National Basketball League after 41 games and the 2005/06 championship with Canberra.

South Australian born Marino will bring depth and experience to the Perth back court as well as giving the Perth team a credible outside shooter.

The signing of Marino brings the Perth squad up to eleven signed and she joins the Perth team in an exciting new era in the WNBL with the WA side already securing the signatures of former east coast players Carly Wilson (Dandenong) and Zoe Carr (Bulleen).

Head Coach Paul O'Brien was delighted to hear the news of Marino's signing stating that Angela's experience under Carrie Graf in two seasons with the Capitals as well as her international experience with the New Zealand Tall Ferns would be invaluable to the Club.

Aged just 20, Marino has already won one WNBL championship with Canberra and was the starting point guard at the Athens Olympics (aged 18!).
