Molitor from West is 17. Not just a bench warmer either, putting up some pretty good numbers. Great size and can run the lanes well
ShutUp!

Tom McKenzie (South) played the 2003 ABL Season as a 16 year old, even started some games.
Is a 4 year veteran now and still hasn't turned 20

teresa kingross is only 17 from south
A girl Named Charlie is only 14 and currently plays under 16s but also has got some time in the aba this season and has also scored .. bright future for her
PLaying a kid like Charlie in ABA is rediculous. She isn't even good enough to make it into some other clubs Div 1 U/16 teams. ASnd as a 14 year old she has taken any chnace of her playing College ball in the future away. Just shows that some Clubs never learn.

Certainly not current, but Chris Blakemore debuted for Westies mens team as a 15-y-o way back in 1989
cayla francis was getting player of the week in ABL at 15! YEAH!
Chris Mason played as a youngster a couple of years back
83887, thats all well and good but you are making wildly outlandish statements that show YOU never learn. Playing in the ABA does not neccessarily prevent you from playing College Basketball. The professionalism of teams at ABL level is considered on a team by team basis.
The main issue is if a professional player (NBL or WNBL) plays on the team. For example Sturt have Oscar and Mahersie playing for them so any kid playing with sturt would loose their eligibility. I doubt that applies to Centrals women.
Wrong,
If any player on the team has a contract then the team is considered to be professional. Sturt do not have Brett Maher on contract so it is OK to play on a team with him.
It is only if players are receiving a reimbursment that a player can contain their eligibility to go to college.
And considering all teams needed to provide their contracts to BASA for the salary cap and only 1 team, the Sturt Womens team are operating under the reimbursment system I think, no I know, you will find that it is you who are wrong. Go and read the BA guidelines.
2.3 The ABA and each of the individual leagues in the ABA would be classified individually on the basis of each team. Therefore if an ABA team has an Import Player under the Basketball Labour Agreement then that team would be classified as a professional team.
If a team had a NBL or WNBL athlete on the team and if those athletes were paid a salary or compensation by that team other than actual and necessary expenses as listed in point 1. That team would be classified as professional.
Question 2 from the NCAA clearing house document for Foreign players.
2. Did any members of your team receive money above expenses for their participation on any of the teams on which you participated (e.g., salary, bonus)?
If yes, please indicate which team provided the payments above expenses to your teammates.
at www1.ncaa.org/membership/enforcement/amateurism/amateurism_questionnaire.rtf.doc?
If you play in a team which has members that are paid you risk not being able to play in the NCAA Div 1 and 2

In response to the NCAA membership's concerns about amateurism issues related to both international and domestic prospective student-athletes, President Myles Brand has authorized the creation of a new clearinghouse to address amateurism issues.
Beginning August 1, 2006, the NCAA Amateurism Certification Clearinghouse will be the processing center for determining the amateurism eligibility of domestic and international freshman and transfer prospective student-athletes initially enrolling at NCAA Divisions I and II member institutions on or after August 1, 2007.
The scope of the Amateurism Certification Clearinghouse's review may include:
Contracts with a professional team.
Salary for participating in athletics.
Prize money above actual and necessary expenses.
Play with professionals.
Educational expenses from an individual (or entity) other than the prospect's parents.
Preferential treatment based on athletics participation or reputation.
Tryouts, practice or competition with a professional team.
Benefits from an agent or prospective agent.
Agreement to be represented by an agent.
21st birthday rule (Division I) ...
In other words be VERY careful!

its funny the question on this thread was simply to ask who is the youngest currently playing aba in mens and womans, didnt state whether they were signed up or making a impact each game the fact is she "Charlie", gets time on the court therfore atm she is playing aba, sounds like some one out there is either jealous or just really pathetic.
so so negative for chirst sakes we wonder why younger players stop playing with so many ppl being so god dam f**king negative trying to dring ppl down, and its even sader if you are some 30 year old that never made it. get a life and bak to teh original question we didnt ask for " all 140 pgs of the bylaws for b ball "

young players making an impact:
Tara Robinson(F-Ville) 18
Rebecca Duke (F-Ville) 19
Lisa Coleman (West)19
Chloe Henderson (South)18
Jess Smart (Norwood)19
Go Tara and Chloe, you've both come a long way since that U14 Div 1 team all those years ago.
Emily Sims (F-ville), Madison Bycroft (Eastern) and Mia Newley (AIS) were also from that team who didn't win a game all winter season but improved each week they played.
I'm very proud of you all and where you've gone in your basketball.
would have bn a good team if they stayed. Chris Molitor, Jordan Kies, michael wright, doing well.
young woodville girls do well.
