This all came about at a West Adelaide home game when the tape for the national anthem failed. He just simply started singing! It kind of saved the day (I suppose) but he took the crowds reaction as loving it, and decided to continue. Seems like he is carrying it on to Warriors territory too!

Perhaps we should ask Panther more about this, seen as he got stuck with Sinatra himself after the game, and ended up giving him a ride into town??

An easy way to avoid this happening again is to use a simple system to pick a player to sing it. This simple system is the player from the home team who had the best HSA in the previous game gets to sing the anthem, eg:

"AND NOW, TO SING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM, AND WITH A LEAGUE-LEADING HSA OF 82.5 IN HIS LAST GAME BASED ON A HAUL OF 51 POINTS INCLUDING 17/28 SHOOTING FROM THE FLOOR PLUS EIGHT BOARDS AND SEVEN STEALS, IT'S...DAAAAAMIAN SCANNNNLONNNN".

You would have players queueing up for that honour. :)

Woolacott Medallists get lifetime immunity - otherwise guys like Oscar, Dix, and Holmes would be singing it each week.

Perhaps the referees for each game could stand arm-in-arm at centre court and duet the national anthem. Can't you just imagine the crowd and players getting behind them and being very encouraging of, say, a pairing of Beamesy and Welbourne?
