Timeout after a score

When a team, say team A, scores in the last two minutes,Team B has called a timeout.
Does team b get the ball(after the timeout) at halfway?
Any other situations where this can be used to you advantage?

Indiana,

Yes, I believe that in the final 2 minutes of the game you will be advanced to the half way line after a time out. This was introduced not long ago.

I don't know of any other situations apart from the final 2 minutes where this is the case.

If team A scores a basket in the last two minutes, Team B can obviously call a time out, then the ball can be advanced to the half court line for pass in.

However, as subs are allowed on made baskets (in the last two mins) and then team A calls a tim out ie they score a basket team b gets a sub, game is stopped Team A is allowed a time out. Team B doesn't get to advance the ball up the court, as it was not their time out.

It is only the team with the ball in their back court, who called the time out who can advance the ball.

You can use this in the last two minutes of the last quarter and subsequent extra periods, ie overtime.

That means the team with possesion will only advance the ball.
You cant make a mistake and end up advancing the ball for your opposition?

Team B could also call a time out to advance the ball?

Team A obviously isn't the 36ers in an elimination knock out final!

Someone tell this rule to Phil!

team B cannot advance the ball after they score as they do not posses the ball... they can only call a time out if the ball is dead ie from team A calling a sub (i think thats allowed). although, somewhat obviously... it works both ways :oP
