Port Adelaide 'Rained Out'

Was supposed to have a game this morning at Port but all 3 courts were unavailable for use as the roof was leaking. A downpipe on Court 3 burst and litres of water was being sprayed everywhere!

Just wondering if this happened at any of the other stadiums this morning? Just one of many things BSA need to improve...

Are you sure it was a drain pipe? Sounds very much the same as an incident a couple of seasons ago on a Thursday night were all games being played at the time had to be cancelled due to the roof leaking.

It was no down pipe then; rather it was caused by rain getting under the capping that runs the lenght of the roof in the middle. There where puddles the size of the Port river in there that night.

Is the stadium owned by the council or BASA? If council owned it should be reported and fixed straight away.

If BASA owned it should still be reported; bet London to a brick that nothing is done about it though!

Basketball is not a sport that should get "rained out".

Definitely a drain pipe, saw it happen, runs down the wall of court 3. A flood not a drip. Multiple leaks and hail on the other courts. We were redirected to Hillcrest, not happy campers.

Eagle,

You just can't please some people can you.

What exactly weren't you happy with? People showing initiative so you can actually play the game? Having to go to Hillcrest which is 15 minutes away? BSA not having planned the weather better? Have BSA issue wetsuits for the players and risk injury?

So what - you played your game in a safe environment and were slightly inconvenienced. If that was my only issue then I would still be saying the weekend was a great success. Well done to BSA, Paul and the committee set up to run the champs.

I agree with Eagle it's Paul Arnott's fault the stadium was rained out. He should have used his magical weather powers to make sure no such event occured.

If he couldn't stop from it occuring at least get down on all fours like the B.S.A. dog that he is and lick up the playing surface with his tongue so that we could start our game on time.

Shame Arnott, shame.

I have nothing but admiration for the whole programming of the weekend. I did post earlier what a great job done by all. But it does make it a long day when u leave home at 8 and return at 1200 for 1 game.
