What's Hot/What's Not - April 27 Issue
DC hasn't shown the commitment so we'll all have to pitch in and cover the Hot/Not for him.
I'll start it. Add your own.
What's Hot:
Austin Smylie - Player of the Week and a chance to trial with the Wildcats.
Some movement in SA basketball - big name assets up for sale from Saturday. BSA walk away empty handed though - ouch.
The Panthers women, having lost a chunk of their roster to Southern, faced Erin Phillips and the Rockets on April 21 and came within three points. Jenine Browne had 36 points and 7 boards and Phillips had 11/10/7 for 41.5 HSA in 29 minutes.
Michael Zorich's 15 boards against Eastern. I swear he's about my height?!
The sausage sizzle at Morphett Vale. You get lost trying to find the stadium, arrive starving after forgetting to have lunch, they've run out of steak, but it's still a sausage sizzle - part of the Southern Tigers experience.
Cameron Wilson thought it was 2005 again, bagging 25 against West.
David Cooper racks up 112 HSA in two games, averaging 19 PPG, 18 RPG, 4.5 BPG while the Flames split their weekend.
Double Clutch loses 26kg and signs a one session deal to learn some gym tips from a newly accredited ex-Sixer personal trainer. Watch out ladies. (If you ever need to get rid of him, just say the three magic words: "casino. lap. dance" and he'll have to take a shower and wash out his eyes immediately.)
What's Not:
Petrol prices hit Ferrari owners hard.
The Panthers men drop three straight without Kosmider, all by 15 or more.
Chek Ng goes for his boating license, but misreads the only medical question in the test and gets it wrong. Every alcoholic in Adelaide is swimming out to his boat claiming they have hypothermia. It wasn't all bad news though, Todd Gower fouled out in 18 minutes against Southern. All of the "Todd! One more foul to go!" calls at Mt Barker on Friday weren't wasted.
The Sabres pumped the Mavs but Forman and Gower combined for 7 rebounds.
I should print Billy Hopkins imploring email here when he thought I should rate the Tigers a chance against Forestville. They lost by 40+. Lacking a bit of sizzle?
Brigid Bowley adds her fifth straight double-figure game as the Sabres win their seventh in a row, but Brad Newley shows no emotion whatsoever. None.
All you can eat salad bars.
