NH - Cheerleaders Told To Cover Up

Hope this dont affect the sixer girls.

From news.com.au

Cheerleading's governing body Gymnastics Australia is banning teams from baring their midriffs and has given them until the end of the year to find new uniforms

"We don't want girls to feel under pressure to lose weight because of the uniforms, and we also don't want girls who see cheerleaders developing self-esteem issues which can lead to anorexia," she said.

"We also want the cheerleaders to be seen as athletes, not bimbos in uniforms which are too brief."

I think the Bimbos comment is a bit harsh myself.

As a Seal Im happy to keep my belly covered tho :-)

totally agree, the focus should be on their talent not the way they look. Some may think that it has no impact, but there are thousands of image conscious girls who it effects.

what next?

Banning Bikinis at the beach?

Banning the uniforms the beach volleyballers wear?

Give me a break.

I must disagree with you there Hurley.
I think you will find that all the sixers girls have been training in all sorts of dance and movement for the majority of their lives.
They are extremely talented and committed people.

Having spent quite a bit of time with them I can tell you they are most certainly not "bimbos" and have a heck of a lot more talent than most people I know.

Just because you may like to have a "perv" doesnt mean everyone does.

They do have talent and revealing costumes just de-tract from it. Dancing isn't that easy! bikini's on the beach has no relation to this topic at all, and fair enough beach volleyball, but they are on the BEACH in the SUN not in a basketball stadium.

Re: Cheerleaders revealing costumes. I dont care what the sixer girls wear, they do a fantastic job.

One of the girls no longer with the group gave my daughter a whole lot of her time at every game over a couple of seasons. This was my daughters first interest in basketball. My daughter is now hooked big time, both playing and watching thanks to former sixer girl Emma.

whats wrong with what the 6ers cheer leaders wear they all work out and train and practice. what they do they are paid to do it and probably feel good about how they look and want to show it off a bit.

yes they are talented but what they do at 6ers game takes some skill but one would imagine the games are some easy money on the side for these girls who are probably studying or doing better stuff outside of the game nights.

And one to say they people will end up with esteem problems and become aneorexic well none of the cheer leaders are and any one who thinks that has problems.

hey im a auzzie fella and having the cheer leaders out gives a bit of entertainment for all but half the time i find myself standing in line buying sh*t or talking to freinds so if its a perv you after keep it end your pants till after the game and head on down hindly street and book yourself into teh crazy horse.
