Drugs policy

What is the NBL drugs policy? Am wondering whether we could consider signing players who have been suspended from overseas leagues due to drug use (as long as they can pass a drug test here) - or do suspensions from national leagues apply worldwide under FIBA rules ? Isaac?

as far as I understand, any player who has been suspended overseas for failing to pass a drug test is suspended world-wide from playing in any official FIBA sanctioned competition, including the NBL and ABL, any State Leagues, etc. Of course, BA doesn't have any legal standing with any non-officially state or national sanctioned competitions, so it would be hard to police that situation, should it arise.

yeah, that was my thought. On a similar note, I'm thinking we could look into how Ian Crosswhite got in on the Kings roster, as he'd been booted from NCAA for a three-strikes violation of their drug policy (weed). just a thought ...
