Yao turns a corner? 22 PPG and 10 RPG

Noticed over the past few weeks Yao has appeared in many highlights and boxscores on nba.com and the Rockets have won a few games.

Yao's stats for the seaon are now:

PPG - 22
RPG - 10
BPG - 1.5
FG% - 55%
FT% - 85%

There has been much talk on this forum about Yao's ability (or lack of) to take over a game. Seems to me like he has turned a corner and is realising he can be the next truly dominant centre.

Any comments?

never doubted his game, just his agression. When the two combine LOOK OUT!

Also averaging nearly 27 points and 12 boards as well as almost 10 free throw attempts per game since the All-Star break, so Yao has really stepped up in the last six weeks or so

He still allows too many buckets... he should be getting at least 3 blocks a game. he doesnt yet have the presence of a dominant centre (that's why stackhouse dunked on him!) if he can develop the presence of, say, Dampier (if you go for a dunk against him, you know you will be blocked) he will be a true force in the league.

It's good to see him doing well though.
