Funny Erin Phillips signs with Suns

sorry if already posted!

Full article

UNCASVILLE, CT. The Connecticut Sun announced Monday it has signed Australian guard Erin Phillips.

"We're excited to finally have Erin with us," Connecticut Sun coach Mike Thibault said. "I think she is one of the best young point guards in the
world. This signing will give us the opportunity to play both her and Lindsay together. While young, I expect she will have a learning adjustment
period, but I expect her to be able to adjust at a fairly rapid pace."

Wow, "best young point guards in the world", big wraps.

Guess people will look back at those Nationals a few years ago when Brad and Erin dominated their respective comps and realise what they actually witnessed.....

espn has a policy of putting aussie players on pacific broadcasts - that is why we get a high % of bucks games with bogut

if not wnba.com has free streaming - only good if you have broadband

sun.com has sun tv as well - games are broadcast live via comcast

Does that mean she will not play any of the WNBL season? As Luara and Lauren and Tully do?

I support jan - but she is way out on the girls going state side - why hold them back - no way a season of abl will be better

look at laura - she was a gun before usa last year - but she has just cranked her game 200% after

jan wont push lauren or penny - cause they are likely to tell her to shove it - but jae signing with san antonio put her policy in ambiguous circumstances

why not negotiate a bit tell the girls to take a week off and come to a camp say in hawaii

good bereak for everyone - jane gets her camp and the wnba gets their guns

if you ask me, Jan needs to speak to coach T about a thing or two. How could she not consider picking her now that she has decided to go over to Connecticut? Sounds like Jan has something personal against her. If you ask me, whatever it is, she needs to grow up and get over it.

Well it will certainly be interesting to see how Coach T uses erin in the pre-season and alot will depend on whether they can get another player to take Wycoff's minutes, and the other of course will be how fast and how well Whalen recovers.

There are two interesting points here. Coach T has said he way move whalen over to give her some more minutes, which would mean that Douglas may be moving over to cover Sales slot more now that Brooke is gone to the Sky.

The big point is that Coach T actually let Wycoff go and protected Erin against the expansion draft even though she has never played a minute for them. That is saying something about the Coach's belief in her ability and Coach T knows talent. Of course it may have been tough to hit the Salary cap with Brooke.

The Sun have been a very stable team personnel wise.

With Phillips a "protected" Sun that means that there won't be more than a couple of spots competed for with the Sun. One point guard spot, Wycoff's spot, and one post player spot.

Summerton will have to compete for her spot again this year. It may be that she is going to get a look at the Brooke's spot.
