Sturt men had a reasonable buffer for much of the game until Woodville pulled back to within about 5. Oscar got his fifth foul and went to the bench. Looked ominous for Sturt until Gower fired up - started scoring in the paint against multiple defenders, getting offensive rebounds from his own misses, etc. Managed to get Sturt up by 20 and then the benchies came on to run out the minutes. Marcus Ng had a big alley to finish the game.

B squared you are a dickhead. The Mavs girls played very well but to say tigers went down in a screaning heap is crap. Mav's didn't allowed Southern to play there normal game and it was only 12 points which is nothing in a fully timed game. Will done to Mav's girls they went out there tonight and played very well to take the win.

Cooper missed Norwood's game - in Brisbane for family reasons.

Six boxscores up so far - check out Screen's game for Forestville - 11 points (2/10 FG) but 9 rebounds and 16 assists for 52.5 HSA. Best for the men so far is Reggie's game which included a swag of boards.

Southern Men beat Eastern - not bad since last week "In the know" said Southern Men were a team in trouble!

They won one game Pickles Housmate. What happened to the Southern Woman?

They lost - you can see the scores by looking at the top right corner of any page.

PS - By clicking the "boxscore" links, you can see all the game/player statistics. Hope this helps you.

Southern Women are 2&1 - hows your team going?

Very touchy! I guess when you talk up your team so much, and they lose, you will cop it. My team is doing fine. I did look at the box scores and if i were you I wouldn't be highlighting those. You stars didn't perform. As you said though, you are 2-1 and still a long way to go. Good luck next week.

Touchy? I probably wear my heart on my sleeve, but I think its fair and reasonable to be positive about this years Womens team who are playing with more confidence and agression in comparison to last year.

The boxscores are there for all to see. I wasn't at the Southern games last night, so I can't comment on how the game was won and lost. The stats MAY provide some indication.

I don't think too many ABA coaches would complain about being 2-1 after three games.

Lions host the Tigers for Safari Cup Rd 1 next weekend!

Southern spectators - don't forget to take a waterbag and packed lunch for the trip! lol :)

PHM - "playing with more confidence and agression"

i guess you can thank your recruiting staff for that then...

Dear Anonymous (#74285),

its people like you that make me not want to write on this great website, i'm a tigers fan, not a mavs fan, therefore on my side of the coin...the tigers fell in a heap and lost the game, and i see your side of the coin...the mavs were great and pressured the tigers girls out of their stuff.

next time you post, think bout what you are writing, and not everyone goes for the same team! leave the personal abuse out of it, if you want to curse me, least leave your name!

Along the lines of what B squared was saying, I think as someone who was supporting the Mavs last night that I can say that they choked in the men's game. 2 weeks in a row now they're lost the game because they've lost their focus. Keep your heads in it guys!

By the way mavs women won by 15 not 12! This team shows everyone that you dont need wnbl players or any star recruits to win. They play as a team.

i love it when people make them selves look very silly.
Mavs are a good side with out wnbl tallent, how long they can contain it will be the question.

any team with Amanda in it will perform well - she is a winner!

From all indications he was schmoozing with Mike Daws during the game. Wonder if that will make the hot/not list?

Mike was probably asking him if he knew where the large un-explained expense for 'baby oil' was going.
