from the results i saw it would seem that Lalic maybe a little unlucky not to have made the team given the numbers he produced. and maybe Dodman a little lucjy given his numbers.
Lalic is too old - it is only for first year players.
Dodman's numbers weren't as good as Lalic's, but he still had a good Championship. Unfortunately for Dan, he is too short for international basketball. The guards are his height. Jordan has the size and strength to play a role internationally. It's a bit like some players who are better than others at ABL, but not at the NBL level. Well done to all the SA boys on the silver medal and also to the 3 who made the Oz team.
No offense to fildes but he didnt seem to put up big numbers at 20 nationals. Why would they pick him?

As has been mentioned the team picked was first year 20's (Under 19's). The team is being prepared for the Under 20 World Champs.
thanks for the clarification. all the best to those who made the team.
By asking those selected as BA is still to put it on website.
9 of 11 AIS players on the camp made it. (Jusafagic & Allsop did not: sorry for spelling), then Dodman, Fildes and Kevin Probert (Vic) make the 12.

Anon #72414,
When choosing a basketball team you must consider the team balance. This consists of selecting the right amount of guards, forwards and centers. Selecting the correct types of role players also determines the success of a team.
Trent Fildes is a team player with an excellent work ethic. He also possesses the physical attributes to be successful at an international level.
Marty Clarke is one of the best coaches in the country and understands what personnel and game plan is required to be successful at an international tournament.
Questioning this selection based on stats from the Under 20 Nationals would be wrong. Trent was a major contributor to his team at Nationals that won Silver.
Make no mistake this selection was well deserved.
Does anyone know when SA had more than one or two Australian reps in any team? What year and teams did this occur in? Who were the players? Interested to know.
Is this not worth a good news article by Boti to make up for the indifferent publicity following Dusty's departure? Tell the public something good maybe? Isn't Dodman training with the 36rs? There are a lot of angles here surely to get some positive PR mileage!?
Even interview the guys on Hoops on Tuesday nghts? Inspire our youth?
Pretty disappointing when their own clubs dont even acknowledge their success on their on websites!!- why would anyone else
