Fellas Gifts Withdraws as Naming Rights Sponsor
Fellas Gifts, a chain of men's gifts stores first established here in Adelaide but now expanding interstate, has announced today that it will not be continuing with its 'naming rights' sponsorship of the Adelaide Fellas WNBL team next season.
Managing Director, Helen Werner, said "While we are very proud of our sponsorship role of the Adelaide Fellas this season, we, like many others, are mindful of the historical significance and long association of the 'Lightning' name to the team, past players and supporters. We feel it prudent that we now withdraw as the naming rights sponsors at the end of this season and fully support the reintroduction of the 'Lightning' name. We will always be keen and vocal supporters of the team and its management."
Fellas Gifts will remain as one of the sponsors of the team.
Basketball SA CEO, Mike Daws, commented - "I am full of praise of Fellas Gifts for its high level of sponsorship of elite women's sport in this State and pleased they will still be on board for next season in a support role. Significant sponsorship in women's sport is rare and highly valued by the sporting community. Fellas Gifts fits that category perfectly".
