best ever individual performance

What is/was the best ever individual performance anyone has seen from a player in a game? It can be from any game and from any grade, pofessional or U18's district, whatever

I've only seen snippets, but the play-off game when Kareem was out injured and Magic played all five positions against the Celtics (from memory) and won. I think he scored around 42 points.

I just tried to find it in a book on the NBA but can't find the story, I'm sure someone can fill in the blanks for me.

Many Jordan moments.

You mean game 6 of the 1980 finals? Where Magic, the PG, plays C for most of the game, gets 42, 15 rebs and 7 assists? The one where he gets the finals MVP, in his rookie season?

Yeah that one

ELG,
I think you are one of Wilts love-children. Number 19,999 possibly ? Stop pimping your Dad ~

Magic was awesome in the early 80's .

Heaps of Bird/Celtics close calls, he was clutch .

Kobe's FG % for 81 pts is pretty impressive.

Donyell Marshall 12 x 3 pters in a game - guy is way under-rated. I think that was/is a record in an NBA game.

Sixers first quarter, of a final (the year Sapwell dropped three banked threes in the 1st quarter), i think we had 40 odd in the 1st quarter. That was special(insert Bruce McAvany impersonation as appropriate).

'Murray Bridge scoring sensation Ron Nunnelly was recruited to the club (as our 2nd foreign player) the following week against Goulburn Valley. His much publicised 85 points debut hit headlines around the country and truly was a remarkable performance at 74% accuracy.'

the year was 1990

Remember Nunnelly's performance well - part of it at least. Left at half time when he ONLY had 33!

I remember that game, remember them finding out afterwards that he was short of the record by 2 or 4 points and they subbed him out with a few minutes to go could have easily got the record.

Yep, Ray Wood subbed him out with 3 minutes to go when he was 1 point short of the ABA (or SEBL or SEABL or whatever the hell is was back then) of 86 points by Kevin Catron.

Marshall's is an NBA record but he doesn't hold it alone, Kobe dropped 12 3's against the sonics a few years ago

Lyn didnt Ron average 55 for that season as he followed up with a few other big scores? amazing seeing as the guy was about 6'2 and would make a postage stamp look fat.

Also remember Lester Fonville dismantling the Warriors in a SEABL game with 40+ points 25+boards 15+ assists and i think 12 blocks.

I am so taking my bag of inflatable Sixers merchandise to Carrickalinga. I think that with some adhesive someone could construct a sea-going vessel entirely out of quiz night prizes.
