All-Time School Teams

Here's my go at Westminster, obviously there'd be a fair few better than this one but anyway:

C - Adam Blight
PF - Mark Paget
SF - Brad Ackland
SG - Nathan Strempel
PG - ?

wirreanda in the early 90's was good, st michaels, sacred heart, and cabra have had some good teams over the years....give me the school and the year they won it.
i went to cabra and i would say either the sacred heart team 1999 (hicks, clarke), or st michaels(cioffi and co) 1998.

What I meant abc fan, was who is the best team a school could field drawing on players over its entire history. Obviously Sacred Heart would be pretty handy, and St Peters...

St Michaels would have a pretty all-time team going by the players there in the 90's. By memory 1 year they beat a Shane Ahmet lead Unley by something like 30 points in the state final.

The Highlight

i would put jim mcentee into the starting 5. he was an absolute gun until he lost focus for the game and began concentrating on footy. Watching numerous of his club and school games he was awesome. no one in school ball could guard him and he could play pretty much any position. maybee lacked a decent outside sho but had the athleticism to play anywhere.

The blackfriars all time school team would be.

pg- Anthony Spaddavecchia
SG - Erik Burdon
SF - Leif Burdon
PF - Luke McEntee
C - Joe Kisiel
on the bench you would have the two furmaniak boys, Damien Brown (currently coachimg them). Sum of the othr players from this years team.

that blackfriars team would get drilled by almost every other 'all time school team'. that team would get worked over by the 1999 sacred heart championship team.

Matt Barrett as centre?!

And where's Steve Williams?! He's a gun - just ask him.

Basman - my reference to Steve was a joke - I realise he's useless, but try telling him that... (or anyone from South, for that matter) :-).

RE: Josh Wood. I saw him have huge games for SHC, and between him & Brett Filz, they got themselves to a final 4 in KO. He had more than a few 30+ games in this last year here.

Josh is at the AIS - he's gotta have had SOME talent, doesn't he?

Hah, I wouldn't know everyone who played.

Shane Ahmatt?
Oscar Forman
Tom Finkemeyer
was Dan Thompson from Unley?

Did Ben Williams ever go to Unley? I think he played in a 3-on-3 team with Ahmatt, but I can't remember who the third person was.

Shane Ahmatt vs Todd Matthews would be a tough call. Maybe Shane would have to step into the shooting guard role.

Todd Matthews went to Unley and so did Thompson.

Ben Williams went to Cabra.
I cant see how Pero qualifies as he only went there for a day.
I think for the girls at Cabra, there are a few names missing, such as Karen (i cant remember her last name, playes/d for West), Kim Porplyica, Hannah Flynn, Angela Marino, and what about the current players - the twin towers???
I will get back to you on the guys people.

What about that guy, they called him 'Ando' - Josh Anderson, he held the record for the most three pointers in a game in 1997 or 1998 - 11 threes, as well as leading the team in three point % and assists. Why didnt he get a mention in the Cabra team!!! He was the unsung hero behind Puddifoot, Tucker and the rest of the guys!!!

My all time Cabra team includes:
Jared Wilson
Andrew Puddifoot
Josh Anderson
Sam Neylon
Jarrod Brumby

coach: Jason Williams
ass. coach: Rob Jarred

Go Ando & Pudds!!!

You have got to be kidding about Jason WIlliams being the best All-Time coach at Cabra!
Has he ever taken a team to a grand final, and coached and won a National Schools Championship? The answer is NO!
Only Paul Mesecke and Brenton Campbell have acheived this, Brenton doing the latter.
And good ol Robbie being assistant, nah, he is better as team manager.

Get benson off the Cabra all time teams, hardly even went to the school, as a year 29 or whatever he is and barely played a game, no KO appearances. And for the girls, most of the current team would make it onto the team, if not be some of the starters.

Mesecke was definatly the best Cabra coach. Brenton is good, but is a tool.. Pero did only go there a few days a week, but good ol Robbie always knows how to pull a swifty! "Kenny T" had a lot of talent but most of it was wasted (pardon the pun). Wilson and Ben Hodges dominated.

The coach of the Wirreanda 1990 team was infact Mr Sparrow as we called him, but Steve Sparrow the Tiger legend coached us with Mr Petheric (now f/ville parent) as assistant.
Wayne Chapman - now that is a name I haven't seen for years, hope you well bloke. We spanked blackwood twice that year with the likes of Ben Osborne, Adam Peck and Potsie eaty hot chips whilst we were warming up - funny site to see (sorry boys)

The 92 team was coached by Bill Hopkins (snr)

i know this thread is from last year, but that SHC 02 team, led by Wood and filz, we embarrassed during the year.

filsz couldn't break our full court trap, and although wood had 33, we beat them by double figures.

How did they make KO, couple of lucky games? Easy draw?
