Giddey will get a contract around the $30 million per, but he resembles the Bulls, average team stuck in that play in purgatory spot.
Wrong era for Giddey with shooting a premium, if he hasn't gained a respected shot by now he either needs to sack his skills coach or accept he'll never have one. Like having a luxury car but always having to take it to mechanic.
I'd say the Caruso trade is a draw, Bulls got the better player but OKC got what they needed and don't have the headache in working out how much to pay him. And teams are really wary about signing free agents to big deals, especially someone like Giddey whos a shooting slump from being unplayable, and therefore untradeable.
So where do the Bulls go from here. They were one of better teams after all star break, looked like they were going to join the Flagg tankathon after getting their pick back, but now only have a 1% chance at that top pick. They do control their picks, but are they had enough to get top picks in future and will they go after free agents?
Do they pursue some big names in trades like Lamelo or Trae Young, their value wouldn't be astronomical, Giddey would probably be centrepiece in those. Even if they could convince Beal to waive his no trade it might be worth it down line to bottom out.
Not many mid level teams that would view Giddey as a piece that would put them over the top. Think it shows that triple double stat is one of the more overated ones these days unless you're someone like Jokic.
