Olgun- Matthew Dellavedova has agreed to a multi-year deal with the Sydney Kings, sources told ESPN. He informed other teams of his decision this morning.

Will that REALLY help his chances of making the Boomers one last time?

Not sure a Kings team under Goorj is the right one to perform under to get to LA in 2028, unless Delly knows Bogut is the likely next coach in waiting. Still supposedly United were only offering him a 1 year deal so can understand he had to go elsewhere.

Traitor!

Anywhere but Sydney.

I'm surprised United offered one year only.

Delly relies and smarts and skills rather than athletic prowess or speed, and I can see him contributing until an old age. Think Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Shane Heal.

Could the "long-term contract" be partly paid for by future part ownership (a la Bogut?)(and why not?)?

As for his Boomer's aspirations, even without Goorj's official influence on things Boomer's-related, unofficially his opinions would still be heard(count on it! it is Goorjian), Boges and Longley are official and King's part owners and assistant coaches to the Kings and Boomers. Should be able to conjure up some support around WC and Olympic times (Will still have to earn a spot but he will be in the best place to impress)!

A couple of big wins there for Delly. What seemed as 4 great
opportunities to begin with, probably came down to an easy choice in the end.

[Sincere thanks are extended to hindsight!]

Won't be a problem for United they'll likely have a better roster next season.

Well Dash Daniels wanted a Next Star opportunity - he's certainly got one now.

A lot of excitement for a guard that averaged 11ppg on 43% and 7 assists on a high powered United offence. Sure he brings those leadership skills, but that negates Brian's cluelessness, what are they going to do with imports. Need a big desperately, but will have to go with a scorer in the backcourt as well. Brian will most likely push for a scoring 3 as well.
Longley and Bogut will have some influence in the Boomers, can't see that being enough to get Delly a recall.
Will be fun watching dellys interactions with Brian though. And Boguts.

Love it Phantom. I still can't believe that someone with the nous of Bogut was OK with Brian as coach. Maybe them working together will see this relationship blow up. I can't see them agreeing on anything.
