Kinda suggests no NBL GF game this Sunday then as both games would clash.

Each of the last two years, the Lynx and Wildcats have been scheduled to host playoff games on the same night at the same time. Game one of the WNBL grand final already clashes with game three of the Hawks-Phoenix series. There is zero possibility of any NBL grand final games being played in Townsville, so they won't care.

I didn't realise there was already a clash this Wednesday, the Sunday 2pm game jumped out at me as that is the NBL's timeslot on 10, but surely with the NBL now co-owning the WNBL they could do better than this?

If there is an NBL GF game on Sunday at 2pm that would just cannibalise the WNBL GF game.

The NBL doesn't take over until April.

As I said, had the Lynx won game two they were scheduled to play at exactly the same time as the Wildcats on Saturday night. They will absolutely not care about clashing with a game in Townsville.

Okay NBL GF series will start Sat 8th or Sun 9th, that's good.

something to do with ESPN ? these games are going internationally.

If it was local planning - surely a staggered start time would assisting viewing.

Townsville recruited Coffey specifically to stop Whitcomb , if Townsville can hold her to under 20 points they are going to have a great chance to win this .

The only times that Bendigo has struggled is when the offence goes away from Whitcomb , at these times they look lost.

Great Matchups

Ellis vs Wilson
Woods vs Burton
Cox vs Tolo
Froling/Fowler vs Griffin
Coffey vs Whitcomb

Benches are about the same , maybe Townsville a little Stronger with Mansfield, Fowler and Shiels vs Wehrung and Samuels.

Should be a cracking good series.

I'll be hoping that the Bendigo Spirit can secure another Championship over Townsville, Coach Kennedy will be wanting to prove who is exactly the best Coach in the WNBL...

Great effort by the Spirit to hang in there when the shots weren't dropping, and then put the Fire away late. Fire went too individual and took some poor options.
Burton was huge, and Tolo really stood up as well when the tide was against them.

Townsville can have their cup of Coffey, we'll stick with our can of VB.

Game 2 has just sold out, 5400 people maybe enough to get Townsville over the line.

Fire need big games out of their forwards who were dominated by Tolo in the last game, shot 9/40 between them.

Congrats to the Spirit on another title.
Absolutely shut down the Fire this series. Beautifully played. Especially impressive today given the ... let's call it home court advantage enjoyed by the Fire.
KK no doubt will again inexplicably get zero credit for the excellent tactical job he did this series, but a title ought to offset that a bit.
Sami finally breaking through for a chip is a nice development, Wilson & KG another for their collections, and I especially loved Tolo's game today. Awesome series by her.

A season that both of these 2 teams undoubtedly deserve to participate in. 2 of the most successful teams in the recent history of the league, with 7 of the last 13 titles between them.

Job the Spirit... KK finally took down the Golden Boy of WNBL Coaching… Maybe along the way actively demonstrated how to Coach Sami to get the best out of her!

What a throughly pointless season that was. Basically the AFL: champion decided in September.
