Former NZ Breakers Import & Coach, Kevin Braswell has died.

Former Breakers Import & Coach Kevin Braswell has died overnight aged 46.
KB coached in Japan since 2021 and underwent emergency heart surgery last week.

During his time with the Breakers KB won a championship and took out 6th man of the year. He also experienced success with the Wellington Saints in the NZNBL as both a player and a Coach.

Rest in Peace KB.

That's terrible. I only heard his name mentioned for the first time in years last week when Joey Wright complimented his coaching ability on his show with Boti Nagy. The poor guy got screwed by Walsh and the Breakers after only one season as coach.

RIP

Yup Walsh made his position as Coach redundant and signed dorky Dan Shamir to head of basketball operations.
Dan wasn't any great improvement on KB and didn't accomplish anything with NZ although he was handicapped by Covid19.

He was in his first season with Utsunomiya Brex as head coach, with the team leading the league. Was hitting his mark as a HC. RIP.
