Australia vs Thailand, Thursday 20th February 7:30pm aedt

On ESPN and Kayo, in Gippsland. Don't know the strength of the Thai team they've brought but given they're still actively trying to win to qualify I'd guess they've brought their best.

As for us, we all know this is the Boomers D-Team and they'll probably still win.

Not sure how good the game will be but at least it's basketball on a Thursday night, so I'll be watching

I know he cops it when he represents at higher level tourneys but hats off to Kay for always putting his hand up. He really is the spiritual leader of these qually games.

Nick Kay is like the modern day David Andersen, always puts his hand up for the Boomers. It's great to see especially given the quality of players they put around him during these FIBA windows.

Although none of this team would ever make a main team, it's good to have someone with the experience of past culture. Also doesn't hurt to keep his name out there although his chances would be slim to wear the main uniform at a major event.
Also does it add to his tally of representation? You'd have your Patty's and Gazes topping that list, could be a sneaky way of moving into the top 10 of all time to wear the Boomers uniform.

I don't understand what this Boomers team is trying to achieve?

If the idea is exposure for the youngsters to the culture and international play, then why are the older guys like Norton and McCarron getting so many minutes. If the oldies are there to provide a steadying influence when the game is close, then again they’re getting too many minutes. If the idea is to say thanks for all you’ve done, then I could understand it.

We’re under no pressure, so Chance could take a chance on the youngsters.

That first 5 mins was rough but then we piled on 104 points in 35mins.
The quality isn't great but I do enjoy these lopsided qualy games.
I dunno why.

And Casey's knowledge of Indonesian players is ridiculous. Dude does his research and cements himself as Aus best bball commentator.

Unbelievablt the NBL playoffs have stopped for this rubbish!

Nick Kay must always put his hand up for Boomers gigs as it was said every 2 minutes.

Now the playoffs move into the footy seasons & the top 2 won't have played for close to 3 weeks. Mind boggling...

In another FIBA game, might be a nervous wait for the Wildcats. Izan Almansa appeared to request a sub after 2 minutes of play in Spain's loss to Latvia, and did not return to the court. Hopefully nothing serious.

You mean his 2 techs -> disqualification? Fairly mild stuff.
