I think they got most of them right, although Sowah all second team seems a stretch. I would've liked to see Lauren Cox in her place.

Milestone Man: Guy Molloy's coaching journey comes full circle as he hits 350 WNBL Games

I hope a functioning website is on the post-takeover agenda.

KK a bit stiff for COTY

Indeed. He lost 3 games all season, with one of them being a dead rubber in the final round.
What exactly was he expected to do to take the crown over Sir Shannon?

Tbf Seebohm did take some major hits prior to this season, no Whitcomb, no Kunek, no Reid, no Aokuso, no Ruef, lost import in Cooke early and still managed to finish 3rd with multiple newcomers coming in like Ellis, Fowler and Shiels.

I'm not knocking him. I rate him in general and agree he did a good job this season.

What record would KK have needed to win though? 21-0?
He already swept the Fire 3-0 in the regular season, and got considerably more out of Sami than SS did. He coached as close to a perfect regular season as anyone has in over a decade.
Robbed IMO.

KK's Team also had the biggest budget in the WNBL by a considerable margin with a reported 3 players on or very close to 100K (Whitcomb, Burton & Tolo). Maybe that was a strong consideration factor by the panel?

For me coach of the year is someone whose team exceeds expectations and is 'greater than the sum of their parts'.
Spirit were expected to be great and have been.
Fire were not expected to be great, but have been.
Simple as that!

I didn't really see anyone nominating Perth in their Top 4 at the start of the year, I actually saw a few so called experts tipping the Perth Lynx for a Wooden Spoon...

Shanice Swain should have been breakout player of the year, shocked she wasn't.

Cayla George should have been in 2nd team all star.

Brianna Turner very stiff not to win Defensive Player of the year.

KK very unlucky not to win coach of the year, or Petrik.

I was leaning Turner too, though I don't mind Cox getting it. Both were worthy.
(I wouldn't have hated Burton either. Not quite sure why Tolo was nominated though, when Amihere had more blocks, more rebounds, and considerably more steals, in fewer minutes per game)

Breakout player is a pretty vague award, but yeah I'd love to hear the rationale for Ellis getting it over Swain, who had by far the better season, and is younger.
