Flames were terrible last night.

After the way they played last sunday they could not do it 2 games in a row.

Bendigo will roll them in 2 games and it probably will not be pretty.

What a weird season. Bendigo being utterly dominant just by being consistent. Having 3 Opal level players and getting import right doesn't hurt.

Well, at least we get a "4 game, guaranteed 3" series between Perth and Townsville.

Tupaea moves another game closer to getting her block knocked off with her style of play .

Agree Cosmo. Would love to see it happen too.
She is out of shape and out of form... not much else she can do but be a bully.

I expect that series to be a complete fizzer, but if Bendigo guard Tupaea with Samuels then that battle alone could be worth tuning in for.

Hopefully Perth rediscover some form and make the other series a good one.

I can't believe what the refs have been letting Tupaea get away with, and then calling something on the opposition when they reciprocate! Really hoping she doesn't cause someone an injury (or suspension!).

Love watching Amoore but I'd be very surprised if she went number 3. If the team with the 3rd pick (Chicago I think?) desperately wants her, I dare say they would be able to trade down and still get her.

My guess is a Spirit v Fire GF series- Fire way more consistent than Perth.

Yeah, when they picked up Coffey I thought that was the final piece in the puzzle for them, so Fire-Spirit seems the most likely GF series.
Prove me wrong, Lynx. You've got the ability to get it done.

Re. Amoore I had seen the mock that had her at #3 when I posted that other mock in the WNBA thread, but I intentionally ignored it because I'm just not buying that any GM is taking her that high. (I probably should have posted it anyway, since I'm not super familiar with most of the other projected first rounders so I shouldn't be judging)

Amoore around 12-15 is fair, I don't think she remains in the wnba for long though.
Should be ok in the wnbl with some stints in europe.
Opals early (Asia Cup nod) as she has been hyped up but overtime will eventually be a 3rd, 4th or 5th option.
Melbourne is the clear #1 atm, #2, #3 or #4 you would think is Reid, Heal or Rocci -then others coming through >Ellis, Loughridge and youth n.t players.

On-brand start for the Lynx with Amihere picking up a completely unnecessary 2nd PF within the first 3 minutes.

LA basketball IQ is very questionable! Morrell is not up to WNBL level. Fire winning big today!

More questionable charge/block calls. Really hoping they introduce a coach's challenge next season.

Semi-finals match-up between these 2 could be a cracker!

So it is. Not just the same night, but also the exact same (5pm) tip-off time.
What a joke.

Shannon made a couple of mistakes in the last bit of the OT . Not having Mansfield out there to help bring the ball was up was just crazy , Ellis look terrified down the stretch and a calmer older head would have at least got them to so late in the game clock Perth would not have had time to get a shot away or they would have had to foul.

Been waiting for a good game for a few weeks now and that lived up to it. I thought the TSV bigs were intimidated by the size of the Perth big , missed way to many easy shots.

Semi series should be a cracker , Bendigo sit back and wait for the winner .

Awards

MVP = Whitcomb

First 5 = Whitcomb
Woods
Wilson
Melbourne
Hillman

Second 5 = Swain
Cox
Amihere
Burton
Jones

Defensive Player = Burton ( its not just about blocked shots !!!!!)

Sixth Man = Fowler/Wehrung

Most Improved = Woods (will probably be Goodchild)

Rookie = Ellis

Thug of the year = ......

Hmm, not sure I can handle Perth losing to Bendigo and Whitcomb being the MVP of everything (deservedly).

Do we have any faith in the end of season awards being reflective this year? ToTW being so trash nearly every time is not a good sign.

Kennedy Kereama should also be Coach of the Year.

Coffey just inbounding the ball to Gorman for no reason with nine minutes remaining in the third quarter has to be the most inexplicable turnover in the history of the sport. I saw it live and didn't understand what had happened, went back and re-watched it just now and it still makes no sense to me.
