Out of interest watched the game again today. The comments about the refereeing are nonsense.
The WNBL has for years struggled with funds invested in this area, meaning most referees only referee local games, there can be some trends venue to venue and that results in inconsistency across the League.
That said, in this game there may have been 1 early charge called a block, which would have been conisistent with how they called block/charge situation for the rest of the game.
Otherwise the behaviour of the crowd (one-sided as they should be) and the players (which should have been handled by the referees with at least 2 technicals) both were unwarranted.
The Caps lost against a team missing George, Clarke and of course Ruef yet got out-rebounded against 4 guard line ups 37 - 45 and allowed Sydney to shoot 42% from 3, many wide open.
Pouch defensively was average (despite the complaints by the Caps), Melbourne was her own worst enemy, her fouls were all caused by her own over doing it. She also throws her head back constantly, no chance of getting the call when referees are used to seeing you do that.
