JJs at breakers 5.30 AEDT

JJs under pump with injuries, breakers got PJC back and have been extremely unlucky of late, will be hungry, JJs probably two wins from finals birth. Both side well coached, Roth more experienced though. Punters tipping breakers but beware of the wounded ants, they attack in droves. Only game today, should be a good one. I've been wounded to many times going against JJs, so I won’t. JJs by nine.

If there's one thing that history has taught me about the JJs it's that you can safely write them off if they're only up by 6 at half time.

JJs never done, in front by six 45-39. Crawford scoring, rest working hard. Nz just are not that good, Lopez is going to be fantastic, Fall is out of his depth. PJC out sorts and Mooney not making shots. JJs just never panic.

Mennenga started season fantastic, then Fall come in and turns to shit, now back, nz management should resign.

No reason Mennenga can't be an absolute star of the league if he gets to tonight’s level consistently

At least Hummer got some cardio in, no points, assists, rebounds, steals or blocks. But someone mentioned he sets really good screens when it was mentioned a few games back when he sucked.
One of the rare poor decisions bringing him in, not even a good nbl1 player. If they had brought in someone that could have contributed then they would have had a better chance tonight, will need to work some magic to save season.

Enjoyable game, while PJC wasn't at his best he’s still a very good at organising his team, it’s what could have been for breakers. Lopez doing so well, Mennenga is back and Fall never played in the fourth quarter, might tell you what coach thinks.
JJs should still play finals, Gak was good, shows good promise, Crawford was excellent, Hummer didn’t see much time, probably not much of upgrade on Sword. Drimic certainly worked hard and played tough.

What happened to Hummer. No points and only played 11 minutes. Injured or bummer?

What are the most minutes played by an NBL player for no stats in any of the 5 major positive categories?

Hummer 11:31 for just that tonight

Fall certainly not playing like the 'weapon' he thinks fall is!

Not hard. Can't see JJ getting another win. Too many ants down. Not rocket science. Can't beat breakers Not beating anyone unless they get full strength and not happening. Not soothsayer truthsayer simple facts. I predict cats for the chip. Happy to go out on limb and make a call.

I too don't think the JJ's are much chance of making the Top 6 but keep it quiet they're revered around these parts and Roth seems to be viewed as some sort of demi-god.

Yes, they've had a lot of bad luck with McVeigh and injuries but Roth hasn't helped himself with his poor recruiting this season Sword, Hummer, Te Rangi, Gak nor his poor behaviour. A spell out of the playoffs this year might go some way to humbling the great man.

With all respect to the guy, where does Hummer rank among the worst imports the league has seen in recent years

Breakers were excellent with PJC, Mooney, Lopez, Bolden and Mennenga. The team was built to play this way. I'd love to see them bring the whole team back, just replace Tacko. Sign Montrezl and his baggage.

Dunkman is the only one in Australia that thinks Hummer is serviceable

All well and good with the benefit of hindsight but if the JJs had gone out and got a gun import 4/5 after the McVeigh announcement ( like nearly all of us thought they would/should) what then if McVeigh was waived and came back. They would then have been in a massive overspend situation. Apart for the initial signing of Sword, the Terangi and Hummer signings have been part of that picture. Like Dunkman, I think Gak has been ok and with another season in the JJs system I think he could be good. To be fair to Terangi he really hasn't been that bad and has come on as the season progressed. Even if the JJs had brought in a Matt Hurt type at the beginning, yes they might have won tonight and some others as well but these injuries to Magnay, Deng and MacDonald would probably have still nobbled them in end.

I didn't want to bag him completely, yes I used the word serviceable and better than Sword. He’s not a good import, there’s been quite a few over the years but he tries and his hustle isn’t to bad. I do agree that Roths selection this season of Terangi, Sword and now Hummer been very poor.

If Magnay, McDonald and Deng were playing then Hummer would be doing the role he was brought in to play. Without those they obviously need something more from that position.

It seems the JJs were caught waiting for McVeigh this year, instead of accepting he was gone and replacing him with someone really capable.
