Nz v Perth 2.30 aedt

Perth should get this, breakers will play hard, just not good enough. Hope Tacko gets a fair call on the three seconds, so many players from other teams spend a lot more time in there and never get called.

No PJC = no excuses for the Cats.

Can't see them needing excuses for this one!

Breakers need mooney to shoot well and mccarron + bairstow to control their pace.

Mojave will be assigned the defense match up on cotton is say so a good chance for him to show what he can do, especially with his shooting troubles

I'm picking cats by at least 10 and hopefully not 20+

What exactly is the defence meant to do on Tacko, can't hold your ground, can't keep arms straight up, can't lean in...

It's almost offensive this "just double Bryce" constant bs, pay some respect, teams have tried to double him, and it doesn't work consistently he is a super willing passer. Does it work sometimes, yes, but to act like there is this obvious way to just stop BC and everyone just ignores it is surface analysis at best

Smart coaching by Koppenen. Cats will win this but it's a little bit like fools gold, they just don’t play D of any quality.

Lowery is right, Tacko gets bear hugged a lot and no call. Disgusting call on Mooney. You stick your face in danger and get award. Cotton is blessed by refs and I'm a great fan.

Lol, how is nbl ref's call way to many fouls yet also lose control of the game. I disagree you can't hit a player with the ball, otherwise what's stopping you from just using it like a brick??

Yes, the old cylinder rule should be followed. Breakers season torn apart by management, not much else to say. Cats are in finals, can they go deep, I'm a long way from that opinion.

Top five settled imo, sixth spot up for grabs plus positioning of top six.

Some very strange calls in that one, as well as strange non-calls. The better team won eventually, anyway, helped by the usual amazing stuff from BC.

Good comment on the cylinder, EssenX - this is where I think our refs are really 'imaginative' sometimes. Mooney tried to stay in his cylinder and found the defender already in it - should be a foul on the defender. Tacko gets bearhugged by a defender in his cylinder - again, foul on the defender. Bryce kicks his feet out of his cylinder when he shoots and makes contact with a defender - should be a no call, or a foul on Bryce for initiating the contact. Tacko runs through a stationary defender and nothing is called! WTF?!

Perhaps Scott Butler needs to give us more of his interpretations of the modern view of the rules.

Cotton blew up at rillie during tonight's game. Very animated and when he got hot it seemed he was gesturing to rillie at times. I can't see him staying at perth with rillie there

I can't see him staying at Perth unless he’s got Australian citizenship ship, you don’t have any cap left if he’s on 1.2 million, and imports cost for three around 700k to 900k.

Perth sucks without Cotton. Most of that is because Rillie can't coach at this level. Wildcats fans are lucky that Cotton is carrying them.

Just on Cotton, Gleeson team were rolling at tables top slipped back to third with injuries to Hogg and Mooney, big losses, on track to miss finals, I believe Gleeson only got one year contract, now to the point, there third import is smith from Brisbane last season, been average, so Cotton is the perfect fit. Imports in Japan are even more important than the nbl.

We're unlucky because if it wasn't for Cotton Rillie would be gone by now.

Few comments above referring to how Tacco is called/not called for fouls.

Consider that the Breakers had to "learn" how to use Tacco to their best advantage. It's already taken several weeks and they are starting to get it right, and they (the Breakers) have him all day, every day. Maybe that explains why the previous giants (2 from China & 1 from the Philippines) in our league achieved so little. None had learnt the art of being 7-foot-plenty.

Could be that the refs need to "learn" how to ref this phenom who can actually play. With each ref "working" Tacco's games only occasionally, could take some time? Rocco hasn't caused this problem for the refs yet. As he learns to be more aggressive he will also put more and similar pressures on the refs.
