I wonder how much of this recent circus has just been about Wells trying to get this group to commit to defence and effort? Not beyond the ego of some to kid yourself that you need a few offensive big names and everything will be fine. Like, where was the effort, defensive intensity, organised rebounding, closing out earlier in the season? Even before the suspensions, the defence was poor and they got by on home wins. Even though Wells is responsible for getting the team up, I would not rule out some difficutly in getting entitled players to put in effort. They had two days to turn things around agaisnt the Kings which suggests there was no reason they couldn't have shown this before. I think the offense looked simplified too, better paced, movement etc. Let's just see how they go against Melbourne and how much they learn. Got to win remaining home games at a minimum. Sadly, I think they'll miss out.
