Bullets @ Sixers - Tues 24/12 - 5:30pm AEDT

Beware the early tip time here.

Dejan out for home team, Batemon for visitors.

Battle of the starters, with both benches devoid of reliable contributors.

Leaning slightly to Adelaide, only because they're the home team. A game that could go either way really.

Sixers by 3.

Thanks for the tip re 5.30 Ben, otherwise I would have missed it. Big game for both sides and winnable for both. Just think Sixers size up front and home court should see them get this. So much relies on Harrison keeping out foul trouble and Humphries is a tough ask for him. Harrel also going to be better after the last start. Davis also in top five players in competition. Bullets will need every point from Prather and Cook plus some good D from other players that probably going to play above their level. Hopefully a close game, Sixers by eight.

Isaac has been trash for most of the season, and scores 18 in a half. Heh.

Bench scoring - ADE 9 v BNE 4.

Bullets up by 3 at the half. Expecting this to remain close. Waiting for Trez to power up and grab this game by the neck, it's there for the taking.

51-48 to bullets at half time. Good game, White having his best nbl game ever, Harrison been very good, Rocco been good as well. Davis mother saying that he loves Adelaide and would like to stay, open your wallet, he's a gun. Neither side great on D Sixers need to tighten that up or can’t win even at home.

They reported in the paper today that the 36ers will start negotiating with Davis in the new year to stay. I'd still put it as a slim chance of him staying as I imagine he could make more cash elsewhere.

They were often lazy on D, but they've become very lazy the other side of the ball tonight too.

Absolutely ridiculous for a professional basketball team to be shooting 54% from the free throws line too. Harrell has absolutely mentally checked out at this point and is just biding his time until he can leave.

Playoffs are not made in october.

Enjoy 36ers fans.

Ever worse? Wanting to bring back your imports next season. (As resported by NBL media)

Hype doesnt win games.

Davis chases stats.
Harrell is all about himself.
But yes lets re-sign them ASAP.

Davis hit the 3, but there's zero offensive system there. Just ends with Davis, Martin and Harrell all standing in the same space in the corner with 1 metre between them all.

I think Davis is worth keeping, Martin needs to return 3/4 of his salary and he's still probably overpaid and Harrell was a fun sugar hit, but has shown he doesn't have enough tricks to get paid what it'd take to keep him around and be a featured piece on a team.

I really worry about people sometimes.

It looked to me like it was taking interlaced footage in the wrong field order. No idea how that could happen, the entire pipeline should be progressive. Definitely something funky going on with the picture though.

Congratulations to Scheuler and his coaching team, building nicely from what looked like a very average starting base. A few more local pieces and they will be very good going into next season, should make play offs from here and try keep all three imports.

Sixers management still paying big coin for no results. Chase a good coach that has been through the system, Chance, McKinnon should be first cabs, keep Davis, Humphries and DJV are contracted and good pieces, Rasmussen, he plays D and works hard, Mayern probably but needs quality coaching, get rid the rest, maybe keep Marshall but he got learn to play D or gone. Get a defensive four that compliments Humphries, most likely an import and a three and D two, three. Find some decent locals that actually play D around them. It might mean you have raid other clubs to get a few decent locals or see who is coming out college. Sixers fans deserve better.

And Brisbane was really good, too. Don't you think?

I thought that that game would test Bullets' legitimacy for post-season involvement. It did and they passed that one. But the jump in the ladder position, 7th to 4th, shows how whimsical this season can be. Next 2 games will be tougher, Illawarra at home and Tasmania away.

Another 20 point loss...

Matt Weston needs to stop sitting with the team. A couple of times he got up to argue with refs, and not a good look for a GM. Not to mention that Kelly sits too close, and it's also the Wells wife and son sitting directly behind him while he’s coaching.

Woeful to watch tonight ,seems like Sixers have lost interest in playing as a team ,not playing defence .
Time to look at next season. As looking at season now we have a lot of hard games ,and whisper DJV is back for Perth game will be bonus .

Davis a keeper
Trez will play overseas where refs are better .
Keep Martin as a cheap 3rd ( like Prather first season after knee injury he wasn't flash but look at him now Prather of the Perth days ,Martin I think will be same .
We need a big to replace Harrell ( I love the guy ,but after suspension he tends to argue with refs and no focus on game .
Retain locals ,need a player like Isaac white to replace Cadee.

The body language of the coach and most of the players was of frustration and resignation to another loss.

You can complain about Davis going hero ball but at least he was trying right to the end, and on behalf of the team. It's not his fault that guys he passed to couldn’t make their shots.

Show-pony Harrell only works in little bursts, and didn’t look interested in joining the team huddle afterwards. I see parallels between Harrell and the 'old’ Kyrie Irving - talented players who seem to reduce team harmony wherever they go.

I don't blame people leaving early, that performance was lazy, half-assed and they served up a giant lump of coal for the Sixers fans.

I understand they have injuries but what’s their excuse for actively not giving a sh*t? The only one that appeared to care was Davis, even though that resulted in over dribbling.

Someone needs to lock Trez in a gym over Christmas until he can learn how to shoot free throws.

In the spirit of Christmas I’m being extremely generous and forgiving.

Also dubious claim of 9.4K there with all those empty seats.

Keep Davis for sure, he has been excellent. With him, DJV and Humphries, Dech plus another defensive athletic big import is necessary. They'd both be extremely critical.

Then you need gritty shooters or rebounders to fill around. I miss the Dusty Rycharts of the NBL.

Why so much negatively. Haven't any of you take note of bullets or cats who have risen above adversity by staying positively positive to the core values. Sometimes need to just back the team to gel and get systematic plans in place. Nothing achieved by being negatives. Roma wasn't create by lack of vision.. next game mentality

Yea, another year another sixers miss of the playoffs (most likely)

Import wise I would keep Davis and replace the others with quicker athletic guys who defend like Cleveland and Simon,

Then sign a good local 4/5 who plays hard even if its a role player like Peatling, ideally Olbrich would be great in this role.

Go more the Tassie path of hard working great culture players, instead of big names.

I wouldnt bring Wells back, chase a proven guy like a Gleeson, Buford, Weaver type (all probably unavailable) or give a guy like Matt Nielsen or Jacob Chance or Jud Flavell a go, or someone in between might be Paul Henare, but I think hes also contracted in Japan. Could also look at SA guy Justin Schueller, who has atleast built a bit more of an identity with Brisbane and I believe is out of contract. The easiest to get of these is probably Jacob Chance, who has done a great apprenticeship under Gleeson, Roth, Vickerman.

If Brisbane sucks, yet are now two places above the Wildcats, should Perth sack Rillie (in a non-sarcastic way)?
