Cotton drops 59

Batemon got a thread for 51, but this one was even more special!

59 points, JFC!

Didn't the Breakers just sign the tallest player in NBL history to stiffen up their defence? :S

Obviously Bateman and Goulding have gone big against Perth recently but that really had an aura of a Bird/Jordan/LeBron kind of performance.
And he has 7 quality assists too.

It sounds sad but I hated Bateman at the top of that list. Glad to see order restored because the scorers on that list in the 40 minute era should only be Cotton, Goulding and Penney.

*Wildcats Fans Trigger Warning*

However, of those 3, does Cotton only go off big at home?

Reg Biddings is still at the top, NBL Media recency bias fail.

Zodiac, I actually think the commentators did a much better job tonight than in the Batemon game of reminding people, Biddings still has the all time 40-min record

I must admit I had the game on mute but the graphic underneath the score said Cotton had set the new NBL record, which obviously isn't true.

Zodiac fair enough, I did notice the incorrect graphic also, but the commentators were at least reminding us of Biddings

Can't remember a season in recent years where so there have been so many big individual point scores, does this say the nbl is becoming more of an offence heavy league rather than the big emphasis on defence?

Okay cool well that is at least an improvement after the Batemon game.

But yeah congrats to Cotton that 20 point first quarter was really special to watch, 59 points in a 40 min game is crazy. As mentioned above glad to see the new 'record' held by a legit superstar, one of the all-time greats, not just an average import that had the game of his life.

On quick rewatch, he didn't score (or even make an attempt) in the first 3min 10sec.
So his 59 came in 35min 44sec, even less if you take out the last 1min 30 he didn't score.
Approximately :)

Is anyone slightly disappointed that he didn't manage a much more cathartic even 60 points?

Asking for a friend.

60 looks much better than 59.

Almost everyone watching were hoping he'd get a 60 piece.

I believe he only missed one FT the entire game, which would've brought him to 60

What was his super coach score? Is anyone having trouble loading box scores on the mobile app? Mine always said no data yet for most games

My best round of the season for supercoach

Glad I chose him as captain. Although PJC did very well too.

@Bored yeah how bad is the NBL app, half the games don't have box scores these days straight after the game. Abysmal.

Second-best league in the world (ROFL) with the 40th best website (smh). Amateur hour, penny-pinching, 'higher priorities' or just poor communication from the top - take your pick?

Hoopie as someone who helped run a site called NBL Today over 20 years ago with the legend himself Derek Nielsen, it's laughable that the NBL online presence is still abysmal. Why do they simply not care about it?

Wasn't NBL Today 25 years ago until the OzH forum, gradually over the following five years, took over in precedence?

I recall reading game reports of Saturday night games on Sunday mornings because the official website sucked, so nothing has changed in that regard.

Cotton I read somewhere a few months ago will be Australian. He will be a marquee if true, lucky the new owner should be able to pay the million he'll need to stay.
