Cotton is just a freak. He literally has no offensive weaknesses to his game. Pound for pound he and Gaze are the best offensive players we've ever seen.

Cotton doesn't need bonus free throws from the refs on good D. Cats in good form, different team in Perth to on the road.

Fall shrewdly got a 2 year deal so can't be cut without his contract being paid out for the rest of the season and McCarron got a 2 year deal too.

Not sure, I've never heard of an injured NBL players contract being paid by the team's insurace company. Not saying it hasn't happened I've just never heard of that happening before.

I've heard of NBA players taking a medical retirement and having the rest of their contract paid by the team's insurer, happened with both Luc Longley and Larry Johnson at the Knicks.

Fall will spend most of his career rehabbing from injury to get injured again.
Sure he's a total mismatch for everyone in the league on offence but he's a complete liability defensively against teams that can shoot from outside at a decent clip.
I liked how versatile NZ's bigs were with Menenga, Gillespie & Bolden.
They could all move their feet, play d, rebound and get out in transition.

Thanks Matt Walsh....

In saying that NZ lost that game on transition and perimeter defense, or lack of.
Didn't help that they struggled to hit the ocean from the pier for a lot of the game while Perth made their shots.

Attention deservedly on Cotton's 59, but PJC follows up CG's 46 and Batemon's 51 with a nice 34 and 10 on 11/15 from the field and 11/12 from the line. Opposition guards torturing Perth right now.

Perth 8-7 and doing alright despite some injuries this year, but need to improve defense, and learn to win outside Perth (currently 1-5) with a stretch of 7 straight away games coming up

This. I called him brittle in a couple of other threads and he gets injured in his second game on minimal minutes. LOL.

Many of these owners and/or their advisors clearly don't follow basketball.

Reply #954916 | Report this post

On the NBL injury update it lists Bolden due to return Round 13, not sure how accurate that is.
I haven't heard anything on "Mr Glass" Tacko Fall or Dane Pineau's recent injuries.
I guess Darling isn't fit with his DNP and McCarron played under 2mins against the Wildcats so he may still be carrying an injury.

It was a dumb move considering how well the team was going despite multiple injuries.
They replaced a versatile athletic player that complimented the roster with a guy who will likely spend more time injured than on the court and can only defend the rim.

I really don't understand bringing in Fall either. It’s not like he was going to dominate or deliver you a championship. I can only assume it was a bromance, brain fart or NBL pressure, and then only to increase the eyeballs on the sport.

I doubt it was NBL pressure, the Breakers tend to resist things like that. As I understand it the Breakers haven't been doing that well financially for a while so the signing of a freak like Tacko was probably an attempt to boost ticket sales, hence that stunt Walsh pulled earlier in the season charging fans $30 to meet him at a game long before they actually signed him.
