JJs v NZ 5.30 aedt

Who knows, nz been great, JJs getting better, massive crowd behind them, can they spring an upset. I don't think so which makes nz fans unhappy with my record on tipping. Nz by 5 unless PJC gets early fouls then breakers might struggle.

Woodhill suiting up for the JJs for the first time, he could get some minutes as a 3rd centre

I think the JJ's have really missed Sean McDonald this season. Obviously McVeigh is the biggest loss, but think McDonald's impact has been underrated

Bolden is playing tough, coach Kop has been great for him.

JJs on top at the half, Crawford, Gak, Deng, Drimic, Sword all much better. PJC and Mennenga only two really doing well for nz. Bolden out with a calf. Good game JJs by four.

Very serious question- lowest score a team has ever put up in a quarter?

Game started on script and then took a wild detour.

25 to 9 free throws is telling.

Nz haven't been good but running out players hasn’t helped. PJC has got nothing going his way. Lopez got his calf wrapped as well. JJs just been ruthless.

JJs far to good but the free throws and foul count so lopsided certainly didn't help nz.

JJ,s were allowed to do whatever they liked by the refs and Breakers were called for everything. PJC was getting hacked all game as was any big near the basket. Was it 27 to 9 FTs.
Imagine if this happened to Gorjean.. what did he say about one team scoring more FT points than the other team were awarded FTs.

I think people are overlooking NZ scoring THREE points in a quarter. The foul count may have a been a factor, but with offensive production like that it doesn't matter a whole heap

Apparently just saying refs refs refs will absolve a team of any responsibility for getting outworked

Oh so now the foul count is an issue.

Some regular posters on here should be better........

I'm a regular and I don’t know if it’s me you’re on about but I clearly said JJs were to good but certainly the free and foul count does need recognition if you’re writing about the game.

Maybe NZ should stop fouling if they dont want to get called for fouls?

Gillespie swings his arm at the ball going past every time without fail and Anticevich grabs anyone he can get his hands on in a rebounding contest.

Got away with it early then the refs had enough and rightly so.

3 points in a quarter is amazing.

It really is amazing, incredible that it can happen in a basketball game in 2024. Surely a record?

I think dunkman's point is that the Jackjumpers were very physical. I was reminded of Chase Buford being apoplectic at this type of play and freedom of movement being denied. But welcome to Tassie Coach Kop and co. First quarter they were cruising and then Tassie’s defence got in their head, they lost their confidence and rhythm. Good lesson for Breakers.

What a win and now the opportunity next Friday night to be 5 and 8 at the FIBA break and reset for the balance of the season with MacDonald and Magnay both back. Can see the JJs getting on a real run from here. As the commentary said, you can't write off a champion and no team is going to want to be playing them in the post season from what we saw tonight.

What's this JLA to JJs rumour they are talking about on Overtime? I would imagine Roth would make sure Olgun doesn’t know anything so Olgun saying he hasn’t heard anything doesn’t surprise. Fits with the very big name 4/5 local previously speculated.
