United @ Brisbane - Thurs 7th Nov - 7:30pm AEDT

Will this be another stinker? Most likely.

Brisbane sucks, and Melbourne will be salivating and ready to lay the smack down after being embarrassed by the Breakers. Looking forward to Bubbles pouring in some points in his home town.

First game of the season for Naar.

United by 20.

I'm looking forward to see how Naar goes, will Scheuler play him, he certainly can pass and get offences going, ok at the other end. Yes, Ben Melbourne will be looking for revenge and there is no PJC in Brisbane. It could get ugly but bullets have hung tough in most games so hopefully not more than twenty. White might show Bannon a trick or two as well.

All good things come to an end, and nothing lasts forever

But, goodness, United has usually bounced back strongly after losses in recent times

Hey guys - what's it like having a home town team that tries + transparent management group? I’d imagine it would feel somewhat comforting ... right?

Does anyone know how old Rocco is? Have never heard it mentioned on a broadcast.

Am I the only one who thinks Bannen is highly overrated by the commentary. Reasonable start by bullets, Prather playing some nice D, Cook hot early. United got this though

Yes I agree. Bannan is 'ok' but he is revered by commentary as though he was the second coming of Tony Ronaldson.

On the flip side, I guess they have to talk up someone when the rest of the team is hot garbage.

Is is retro round? Sounds like Brisbane has brought back 'The Library'.

Rocco is 19 next July.

Neither side not playing that good D, understandable for Brisbane, they are not that good, but united also average. Prather been good at both ends.

Both Brisbane import guards don't defend well.

The Rocco hype is getting more and more ridiculous when compared to his performances. I know the guy is a kid but it's very hard to see him as a 1st round pick

Being a first round pick is a ship that's well and truly sailed away.

Maybe he gets selected late second round by a team that doesn’t need a body immediately and wants to develop him in G League.

Games at this stadium appear to have zero atmosphere, I guess fans don't have much to get excited about at the moment? has anyone been, is it different being there?

Rocco won't be drafted - there are a lot of guys close to his height who have better skills, not to mention better physique, athleticism and hops which are what matter to NBA teams.

Sad, really, as last season he showed so much potential, but this season his coaches have let him down.

Prather, Norton, been good, the rest very average. Those guard imports got twenty each before they are in the plus, neither any good consistently. Brisbane need another rebuild. Harrison could be good under the right coach.

The Entertainment Centre's energy supply taking pity on us all so we don’t need to watch any more of Brisbane masquerading as an NBL team.

Sorry to anyone else who tuned in, I hope Tassie v Perth is better.

United defence not that great either. Brisbane Cook -11, Bannen -13, Bateman -17. Prather +4. Speaks for itself, still with 3 minutes to go.
Let's get to the Perth game.

The three commentators did great after the stoppage, Lowery is funny dude with a great basketball knowledge. Game to be finished but not viewable.

Rocco got a lot work to do, strength and floor positioning is not nbl level, let at all nba. If he sorts all that out he might get there but not in the next draft.

Finished 103-120 to United. Prather clearly the best player for bullets. No Naar which is a disappointment.

Yeah, it was brilliant... until we were sold to a fuckwit named Hutchy.

how many times in NBL history (or AFL for that matter) has the wife of a player been on live commentary calling for the coach to run less subs or giving coaching advice? One of the problems in junior sport are sideline family/parent commentators/experts, and now the NBL is joining in.

Bizarre set up, they already have a DRuck as a sideline commentator, now they need 2.

Kinda sums up the Bullets this season.

Sill expecting a new coach by the start of December. Hopefully one with some relevant head coaching experience, and an assistant with some real head coaching experience.

Yes, having Prather's wife on the sidelines of her husband's games is weird, unprofessional imho. Seriously what's the deal. Typical odd Bullets shite.

Final margin of 17, not far off my call of 20.

Brisbane took the 3rd year team option on Scheuler before the season started, probably after the blitz, he's not going anywhere. Again, who put the side together, it’s very average, no matter how good the commentary talk up some of their players. Scheuler certainly hasn’t had it firing though.

I'm not sure its the assistants for Schueller, the offence just seems so one diminsional, come down drag screen 1 pass ball screen (and not always for the best guy) and run back

Melb Untied exploited harrison not getting back to protect the rim shay sprinted that ball back and then rocco even when he switched to Bowen they attacked in the PNR or with Hammer screens.

Yes, I agree that Brisbane could do with an upgrade on Scheuler as HC.

However, as I remarked re Mike Kelly being a very suitable AC but not HC, ditto for Scheuler, perhaps. Ever heard of the "Peter Principal" (highlights that personnel often get rewarded for being outstanding in a current role so gets promoted to a position which really requires a different skill set, so fail in the new role, put very simply)?

Scheuler was such a good assistant that he may have fallen into that "Peter Principle" trap.

So, keep him. His MU experience with Vickerman is invaluable and, in all honesty, Scheuler did well with what he took over. Brisbane was at a bit of a crossroads and he did well to pull them into basically a good roster. Just not one good at winning games. His roster seems engaged during games but also seem to lack passion and urgency on court. Get a new HC with the required skill set, not necessarily an experienced HC but one who can bring those mental aspects into Brisbane's game as a regular feature. Scheuler could then return to being a fabulous AC
