Bullets @ Cairns - Sat 2nd Nov - 8pm AEDT

Despite Tarran, Tanner and Pedro unavailable due to injury - a very winnable game for Cairns.

The battle of the league's premier point guards - Adnam v Norton - will be a joyous treat to watch.

Cairns suck. But Brisbane suck more. Sneks by 4.

Very interesting game imo, Cairns do have injuries, haven't looked great, bullets just look less talented but can put in a workmanlike performance. Adel seems to be missing for a long time with sickness. Taipans do perform better at home but I think bullets can get this.

I believe the Chris Smith at Brisbane last season is playing for Gleeson, looks a complete different player, long season ahead but Gleeson team looking fantastic.

Been through 30 years of Bullets basketball now. I'm not over exaggerating when I say this season’s iteration might be the worst of the entire period. And I’ve sat through plenty of no hoper outfits.

Ok game, taipans by 3@1/2 time. Cook -13, Bannan -9, struggling. Edwards 16p, no Adnam yet. Brisbane just not that good.

Brisbane just don't have "it" which often means new coach required.

There are flashes- Batemon hit a few threes early, Harrison had a size advantage with Gak and Waardenburg in foul trouble. But they couldn't capitalise.

Cairns is playing with intensity and Edwards is scoring. Heart and soul.

All Brisbane imports are average, it hurts the rest team, is Scheuler the next Kelly, as said previously, who put this team together. Harrison has talent but the rest are average at best.

To Brisbane credit they hung tough but taipans threw it away with inexperience. Edwards scored 27p but also was -10. It's tough on Cairns with so many injuries. Makoi looked ok accept went iso a bit. I just don’t see either side being top six. Brisbane certainly don’t use their bigs to their advantage though Harrison certainly works hard.

This thread has possibly some of the worst comments by Ben.

30 years of history and this is the worst? I call BS.

I would keep Schueller over Mackinnon too.

I genuinely wonder how old you are bruh.

So your gripe with Ben is over the fact he said 30 years?

I do recall the Bullets of the mid-to-late 90s and early 2000s being a total irrelevance although the key difference, compared with the present, was that they didn't have the money to compete but at least were trying.

I'll never forget watching a live interview with Richard Orlick and how shattered he was over the prospect of yet another losing season.

Nowadays they are a placeholder team to fill a gap in a capital city market, for the purposes of fulfilling a broadcast contract, who recruit players such as an over the hill Prather in an import slot. Give me a break. They aren't trying and are taking the piss with overseas owners who presumably were sold on the fact they could onsell the franchise for a profit after a certain time period.

Im with Ben, The Bullets are a rabble and while Im sure everyone from coach down is trying their best its the level above who are taking the piss and happily trotting out a group that cant compete at this level. :(

Sammy burnt all the bridges in Brisbane when he left no chance of it happening.

Schuller will likely stay as i can't see Brisbane paying him out and they will enough games for him to hang on but surely not past this season.

They do have interim Vandy sitting there who was ok last time they had issues.

Brisbane is cheap, they play cheap games and don't develop players and with a new training facility they can't afford to be paying out coaches.

The Bullets don't need to pay out Schueller as he's out of contract at the end of the season.

Free to move him on early it seems, good catch on the back end Zodiac

They have a run of United, JJ, Perth x2 before December I think they would be lucky to go 1-3 and more likely 0-4

Schueller might well be happy to walk away at the end of the season, but the question is will he be given another chance based on the performance of the Bullets? I'd put at least 75% of the blame on their performance on the front office, extending back before Schueller came on board.
