Never understood the uproar from the Americans when the trade was announced. Despite Carusos ability, Giddey can put some decent numbers up and is still only 21 y.o.

Caruso currently averaging 1.7 / 3.3 / 2.3 & 1.7 steals.
I know he's there for his defence, but Chicago are so far getting 15.4 / 8.4 / 5.8 out of Giddey.

Early days yet, but think Chicago won that trade, or at least wasn't as "lopsided" towards OKC winning it, as was being reported.

That's just it Giddey puts up hollow numbers, there was a reason why once OKC became good he got sent to the bench and why they virtually gave him away. Westbrook 2.0.

You watch some stupid NBA team will give him a contract for $20M+ a year.

He's young and still has plenty of promise, but doesn't look to be all star calibre and juries out on his shooting . If in the playoffs he has a bad shooting series then he becomes a liability like last season.
It's really the reason he didn't get an extension, Chicago are going to see what the market offers and make a decision. So will depends what teams have space. Suggs and Green got 30 million a year, they have big flaws as well so depending on year could expect 20-30 as well with cap increasing. If his shooting improves would expect the 30 mill per, if it stays the same maybe 4 year 90 million. Interesting it'd be close to Lonzos deal who has similar playing style but improved his shooting to get that contract.
Or he could sign a make good contract with a good fit like Spurs, they like international players and with CP finishing soon would be a good pairing with Wemby.

Why they hollow numbers Zodiac, especially compared to Caruso's splits, considering they were a direct swap.

I'd argue without Caruso, the Thunder would still be more than decent in a strong West. Would Chicago be without Giddey ? Especially after losing DeRozan, and Ball still out.

ESPN ranked OKC 2nd in the NBA Pre-Season, and had the Bulls #23 in the same Rankings. Bulls currently 3rd in the East (albeit on a very small sample size).

I think Giddey is going to have a greater impact on the Bulls winning, than first thought.
