Taipans struggles

As if Pedro Bradshaw's injury ruling him out for approx 8 weeks wasn't bad enough, now we have this as well...

"Basketball Australia is investigating a potential breach of the Code of Conduct for Elite Participants by Cairns Taipans player Rob Edwards for an incident that occurred post-match of the Melbourne United fixture on Sunday, 27 October.

As the investigation is in process no further comment will be provided by BA, NBL or the Cairns Taipans at this stage."

Allegations of inappropriate interactions with referees in the back of house area after the game. Not an excuse but I can understand his frustration with the result, particularly when he fouled out in 19min.

He'll be right.

Whatever happened wouldn't be worse that what Makoi got caught doing - which was under reported - and he only copped 2 weeks.

Every year someone gets dealt a rough hand with injuries, and this year it's Cairns. Just don't have the budget to sign proper depth pieces when key guys go down

@Ben, that's all been kept very quiet.

Unless things got physical or similar, surely the bar has been set with Tatum?

I was hoping the draw over the next few weeks was going to give Cairns a change to get healthy and start moving forward. Now almost back to square one. Need Armstrong and Bradshaw back ASAP.

Refs let United get away with physicality at times, and Taipans players were frustrated but when you lose by 40, should look in the mirror before apportioning blame elsewhere

Edwards has no one but himself to blame. Giving away a USF from behind 2 minutes into the game, and later throwing around an elbow to get fouled out which was lucky not to net another USF.

Young Rob has some growing up to do.

Feel sorry for Taipans, Bradshaw for 8 weeks really hurts.

Word coming out that Deshon Taylor has been signed as an injury replacement. Good news - we're going to need him to hit the ground running!

Edward's is one hell of a player but he is not unguardable and he needs to accept some teams will be able to stop him at least some of the time. All he is doing with this sort of thing is disqualifying himself from being recruited by any team here or overseas that has a coach with a NDHP. Forde is one of those coaches and I expect he will make him learn a lesson from this.

I remember someone on here used to always pine for the return of Deshon Taylor after the Sixers cut him in pre-season. Turned out to be a very mediocre import with the Kings.

Today

Makoi - drink driving was just one of the multitude of things that arose from the one incident. Will leave it at that.
