When I first heard the statement about the colour of his skin I thought he was directly implying discrimination. But watching it a few times he was seemed to explain in his view why he was made an example of for the tech, that he was taller, deeper voice and different skin colour than other coaches. So while their was an inference, I don't think he was necessarily saying there was racism, just that he stands out from all the other coaches currently. And it is a degree of human nature to be more intimidated by Tatum than an overweight middle age man who wouldn't be out of place at a dungeons and dragons convention.
Ultimately it has highlighted the bad behaviour of coaches and how certain ones get away with more than others. Coaches should be able to question calls, but there has to be a level of conduct. Any swearing should be automatic tech, and if warned about carrying on then follow up on it. Can't really remember too many ejections lately despite the behaviour being the worst it's ever been.
And rewatching again, it hilarious to watch Hickey suppressing laughing when incompetent referees is brought up, never seen a hand move over someone's face and mouth like it did. Can just imagine what he was thinking.
