SEM v Illawarra 5.30 aedt

I think this could be an upset win for SEM, big out in Kell and pressure on coach Tatum who made some poor subs last game. Olbrich off the bench is key here imo, give him more time to trouble SEM bigs. SEM by 3.

Tatum needs to run sets to get Days some inside touches.

Kell a huge out but Hawks back up PG is in better form than SEM's.

I expect a bounce back from the Hawks.

SEM playing good D, hawks subbing like under 12s team, Peatling and Blanchfield on together is never a success.

D went at 1/4 time, hawks back. Hunter gets his third foul because Hurt can't stop his man in front of him and Hunter gets fouls.

Hurt on three fouls now. Wieskamp better import than Hurt despite the scoring difference.
39-45 to hawks at half, Day very good. SEM needs a defensive big urgently.

SEM close enough if they play some D. Hunter still got two fouls left, quarter to play.

I think Sobey had four turnovers and a dumbass midrange floater in the last 2-3 minutes.

Is anyone watching from abroad? (if you know what I mean)

I left the feed on and there is some awful 3x3 being broadcast now.

During that phase of play I was thinking that I'd want to uppercut Sobey if he was my teammate. How demoralising for the Phoenix.

Some good signs for SEM but still got play better D. Hawks would be very happy with the win. Hunter is key to SEM but his foul trouble because opponents just keep driving to the rack through lack perimeter D makes it hard. Both some of the late subbing seems dubious, Hunter off and Peatling for Froling was ridiculous. Nice bounce back from hawks in a reasonable quantity game. McKinnon certainly looks like he has some idea. Day and Harvey very good after quiet games and Hickey doing Hickey things were good. Like most seasons SEM just don't look that balance as a team, to many guards and not enough quality bigs. Sobey does what he does, again his game down the stretch is under tens hog ball.

Sobey doing what Sobey does. When does SEM pull him in. Hunter was terrible and soft. Hopefully new coach makes some hard decisions. Glover under used , should be playing 20 + minute's between the 1 ,2 & 3

SEM look much better under Sammy Mac, players buying into the plan, pity he's not getting the Head Coach role. Sobey so disappointing down the stretch, poor decision making, turnovers and poor shot selection. Drops his head after each crap play then does it again, so annoying to watch.

I didn't watch the second half, but colour me VERY surprised to hear Sobey pissed away the game for SEM.

Lots of talk about poor shot selection from Sobey but he also made a key defensive lapse late on to allow Hawks an easy bucket that killed the game. Frustrating
