Feeling optimistic that this could be the year where the Spurs break into the playoffs. And then onwards and upwards from there in future years

Happy opening day!

Looking forward to seeing
- if Ant can step up to be a genuine superstar in Minnesota.
- If Sixers can stay healthy (that horse may have already bolted)
- if the Thunder can continue their rise.
- second year of Wemby.
- Whatever the Raptors are
- Daniels as a starter next to an offensive focused guard
- Where Ingram ends up
- How hard teams will go to capture the Flagg
- Whether the Knicks can be legit
- If Furphy, Landale, can crack their teams rotations
- If Giddey can work on his weaknesses and get himself a big deal next off season
- Whatever Ben Simmons will do
- Green getting proper minutes in Charlotte
- ingles and Patty continuing to be GOATs
- Where/If Thybulle and Reath fit in Portland among a heap of similar level players
- If the aussie 2-way guys can get a look in

I'd say Ant is already a genuine superstar based on last season and their playoff run.

Anyone watching Starting 5 on Netflix? I'm 2 episodes in, great stuff

I dunno. I think he's right there, but he will need a significant step up to move into genuine MVP contender

Got a good block and a bunch of rebounds as the Celtics went for the record number of 3s in a game ever. Didnt look at all out of his depth. Think he'll work his way into some minutes as the season goes on, though Sims who is ahead of him on the depth chart also looked pretty good.

Celtics shooting was insane. Yeah there were a lot of open ones but also a lot of good contests and they were just drilling everything (until they didnt)

I love that the Lakers got the LeBron and Bronny playing together thing done on opening night. If they didnt there would be endless speculation about when it would happen. now its done, he can go down to the G League when that starts up and just concentrate on getting better.

LeBron still hasn't retired?

Agreed, the father-son thing would have been cool if it wasn't so contrived. Meh.

For anyone with League Pass- Are there speed watch options?

Eg Kayo you can watch 1.5x or 2x. YouTube has 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2x. Plus slower options on both.

"For anyone with League Pass- Are there speed watch options?"

I havent really looked for that. What they do have is "all possessions" as an option to watch, which basically just cuts out everything except the key part of every possession (whether thats a shot, turnover etc). Ends up going for about 35 minutes.

It can sometimes feel a but clunky, but i feel like this season they've made it a bit smoother and its my go to for trying to catch up on games im interested in seeing (the really big ones I stick with a standard replay)

That sounds like an interesting option. Cheers

Think I'll get monthly subscription for reg season. Most playoff games are on Kayo so won't need it then.

I think its only the conference finals and finals which are all on ESPN. 1st round you miss about half the games and even second round too, but yeah if you're only interested in the bigger games and already have espn thats probably fine.

Yeah that's my memory too- everything from conference finals onwards, with plenty of games in 1st and 2nd round while still missing some. I'm fine with that.

Mostly thinking of getting league pass to watch more Spurs games. If they make playoffs I'll keep it til they get eliminated.

Great to see the Knicks upgrade Hukporti from his 2-way deal to a proper 2 year NBA contract

Looks like he deserves it. Has looked really comfortable out there in the minutes I've seen of him.

Great news for Huk but he's already getting too many DNPs under Thibs, especially since Sims is stinking it up on court.
Thibs just doesn't like playing rookies.

NBA schedule is so whack, especially since NBA cup

Spurs playing Rockets for 3rd time today. Should be good, since the first pair were close and split 1 each. Although Spurs missing Sochan, and presumably still missing Vassell and Jones.

And Spurs play Jazz 4 times in November.

McVeigh played 2 minutes again today and the Rockets only used 11 players. That is his 3rd appearance so far and is suggestive he is on the cusp of the proper rotations should injuries arise. All looking very promising for him. That image of him with Landale the other day on NBL socials was just fantastic.

Yeah it's very promising for him, was expecting him to be with the Vipers but awesome to see him getting Rockets minutes. He's truly living out his dream

Spurs exceeding expectations this season

9-8 despite Sochan, Vassell and Jones missing most of the season to date, and Wemby missing a few

So nice watching CP3 wind back the clock

The big win for the Spurs this year has been how good Castle has been - we have found another core piece for the future but Barnes and CP3 winning games isn't overly helpful for a team that should still be going for the Flagg (plus others) lottery.
